While there's absolutely no doubt about the David and the Samson (I love Octanqs idea that she is like David, cheating, and yet like delilah - and he's Samson, betrayed), I think that while the song could be about love and making love to your partner

But it could also be about the love and despair relationship between a man and god. I was kind of thinking Jeramiah. |

I think also that it is about drugs.
The person is on the edge, on the verge of despair... and the drugs, on one hand, "cut him loose" from the despair - but on the other hand, being tied to the noose was the only think that kept him from falling off the edge. And it cut him from that only thing and makes things worse. |

I think this song has some magic to it. I don't know, maybe it's because it was most of my background music while reading Neil Gaiman's "Stardust", but it seems very fairytale-ish. Very inoccent. This song makes me feel at home. |

I used to have problems with my brother, and I would be afraid to be in my house. He'd blow up when you least expected it.
It was much more complex than that, obviously, and this song was word for word my feelings. It was more than that, actually - at a certain point, it spelled out my feelings to me and actually made me realize how much I missed my brother.
