This song is about pornos. Period. If you listen to the part of the song with the wierd quotes you'll hear stuff like "Wanna try me?" etc. These are all taken out of old porn movies. Yeah I have way too much free time. |

Johnny's right, my hair stands on end when I hear this song. It was used wonderfully in Dawn of the Dead, as the song has paralell themes to the movie. This is some of Cash's best work ever, the quotes from the Book of Revaltion fit the song perfectly. This song and his last album American IV was Cash's final chance at showing how he felt and seeking redemption. IMO he did what he set out to accomplish. |

I never realized just how many of their songs were about sex! And they make it blantently obvious too, which is why I love AC/DC they f*** around. Just straight up hard rock the way it was meant to be played. |

Theres also the fact that there is a police station on East 12th st. in Oakland Calif. This could refer to Jesus' metaphorical prison and how he wants to escape. (Somebody get me out of here Anybody get me out of here Somebody get me out of here Get me the fuck right out of here).
And then he says that he never should have come to the city at all. And he shouldv'e stayed at home. And when he sees the postcard from Tunny it drives it home and he decides he HAS to go home.
Also when he goes home he speaks as if someone is with him, (And to you and me thats home). This could mean he AND his split personality have finally found a place to coexist after his metaphorical suicide. I think even though he "killed" himself, Jimmy still exists in the back of Jesus' mind but by this time nobody cares, (And nobody cares And nobody cares Does anyone care if nobody cares? And nobody cares And nobody cares Does anyone care if nobody cares). So Jesus is left feeling incomplete hence his metaphorical prison sentence. And since Whatsername has left him he decides to go home. |
