I think this song is about how perfect the world seems on the outside, but when your in the heat of its problems, everything comes falling down and its just overwhelming. Possibly even about war, (or it may just be a referance to intensify the meaning) but steel rain was a term used by iraqis during the persian gulf war. It was a type of artillary that broke apart into thousands of peices in the air, reffered to as "steel rain" |

Its about not being able to find the right thing to say to the person you really want to say it to, and how time slips by and theres nothing you can do about it. I think it is not only saying this, but i think it is saying how it may already be too late, and he missed the opportunity he should have took long ago, and now its gone. |
