| I'm sorry, but "symphonous" isn't a word. | |
| Kasey Chambers – million tears Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It sounds like a male voice echoes over hers when she says the line "from wishing you were here". It could be that the person she wishes was with her is thinking the very same thing. All too often two people are seperated by circumstances, but if there wasn't so much history they would probably be happy together. Or maybe I'm hearing things. |

To me it sounds self-reassuring. He broke up with her, and by the sounds of it is moving on to another woman. She has been left behind - and now she's pretending to herself that it's what she wanted and that she's happy it turned out this way. |

Pretty obviously about an affair. About knowing what the right thing to do is and doing the exact opposite. When the heart is involved the brain very rarely wins. |

| The Coral – Dreaming Of You Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I've split up with my GF. For the past three years we've been together and it's been great - but now that we've split up I've realised that my life has totally been on hold for her. She's moving away now, and I still want to be with her so much. But I know for my own good that it's better we seperate. I still need her, I'm so alone without her - but I gotta tell myself that I don't want to be with her anymore. That's how I see this song anyway. Ace song btw. |

| Jet – Move On Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Fantastic song. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to realise and accept that something has come to an end. You have to let go before you can look to the future and move on. It's hard, but I'm sure it's for the best. |

| I Am Kloot – Proof Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Nice song. Having just split up with my long-term GF, I feel awful and so alone. I hate the way I feel, and I try and blot that out by spending as much time as possible with my friends. "hey, could you stand another drink? i'm better when i don't think, it seems to get me through." ^^^ I'm kinda like that now, asking my mates to stay for just one more so I don't have to go home and be alone. It's easier to take your mind off things when you're with people/drinking. Fuck knows - maybe it's just a nice song with no real meaning. |

| Suzanne Vega – Luka Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Powerful song. As others have said, about a young boy being abused. Reminds me of my childhood, used to listen to a Suzanne Vega tape all of the time - Tom's diner was another favourite. And Right Said Fred. God I was a geeky kid. Not much to say about this - but yeah, powerful emotional song that makes you think. |

Heard this song on Scrubs (awesome show with an equally awesome soundtrack - seriously). Have to say, it has meaning to me. ---- Boring Personal Story ---- Just now I'm with a girl, we are exact opposites - I hate everything she stands for and she hates everything I stand for, but we work so well when it is going right. She is the World to me. But it's these differences that will ultimately tear us apart, she wants much different things from life than me. We will break up, probably within the next year. And it will be nasty. And being the forward thinking kind of guy I am, I'm left wondering - without her, will there EVER be anybody else? I'm generally very anti-social (I've been friends with this girl since I was 4 years old) - and I kind of doubt I will ever meet anyone else, I just won't put in the effort. And I don't see myself with anybody else. Even with her - I feel lonely. For being such an anti-social cunt, I get lonely pretty easily. My friends aren't much help - I think I need proper effection. Although that said, I was a hard-ass before I met this girl, so maybe when she is gone I'll harden up a bit more and this ponsy "feeling" crap won't bother me so much. Hmph. Life - one kick in the bollocks after another. |

| Embrace (UK) – Out of Nothing Lyrics | 20 years ago |

The way the last verse is so racy compared to the others suggests to me that there are mixed emotions. Sad, but at the same time angry/frustrated. |

| Very nice song, listened to it a lot in my childhood. It's one of those songs that just rolls off nicely and calms you down. | |
| Bonnie Tyler – Total Eclipse of the Heart Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Some good interpretations for this, more than I could make of it myself. I first heard this in the film "Bandits" (starring Bruce Willis), and took a liking to it. I feel it's one of those songs that has a much more intensified effect if it's listened to at full blast. I like it. First post by the way people, never thought I'd be emotionally crippled enough to come to a site like this, let alone post. Anyways, hey :-) |
