I've noticed that Isaac references Nowhere as an actual physical place in several songs. Being that he is an atheist I think that he's talking about the afterlife that doesn't exist, to say, "I want to go Nowhere" would be to say, "I want to die". |

This song is nearly parallel to the book House of Leaves. It is amazing how similar they are. It is very possible that he wrote this song after reading the book because the first edition came out a few months before Fevers and Mirrors was recorded. On top of that, Conor reads a lot. Just an idea. I highly recommend the book though. |

The shear beauty of this is that it can be applied to almost anything. The description that are given are so vague that all it takes is a creative mind to interpret them to however it sees fit. Personally I think that it's about the Holocaust, but it could easily be anything, or everything else. |

I'm going with three575's theory that it's about an acid trip. I think that the girl is Isaac, he lost track of who he was while being the only person there dropping acid. They gave him a mirror so he'd talk to himself during the lonesome hours of the night while all the sober kids were sleeping. He's always heard great stories about trips so he wanted to try it. Now that he's been tripping for over 14 hours he's sick of it and wants to come down so he can sleep or just be normal again. |

My friend and I did a ridiculous amount of C-pills and listen to this song. It was a crazy ass trip. We thought that the song was just about a shitty relationship that never ends and never really goes anywhere because the shit always hits the fan so to speak. |

Beta carotene is an antioxidant, it's in a lot of fruits and vegetables. I'm not sure why it's the title of the song though. Another fun fact, if you take beta carotene and you smoke it can be deadly. Have fun. |
