Well, I think if you really look at everything as a whole, and forgive me for not citing references as I'm at work and doing this rather quickly, but this song seems to be the killing of Ambellina as to break off Claudio from any hope of love, as it's been stated by Claudio that Ambellina and Newo represent the good and bad sides of Erica respecitvely. This is what allows him to become the Crowing and fulfill his destiny to destroy the Keywork to hopefully bring God back to the Universe as it was told. God left when Sirius Amory put the Keywork in place, or sometime thereabouts. He told the Prise, guardians of the Keywork, to which Ambellina once belonged before having her WINGS REMOVED, that if they interfere with his return there will be consequences. Hence, Claudio or The Writer kills Ambellina. As for the hoedown at the end, I have a theory on this, take it or leave it. On The Prize Fighter Inferno (Claudio's solo project) album "My Brother's Blood Machine," the story is supposed to be set on Earth a long time before any of the events of the MAIN CoCa storyline and involves Jesse, hence the name of the project. Well, Claudio has described the story as involving a backwoods Chainsaw Massacre type family involved heavily. So, I get to my theory about the hoedown track. Picture, after dying earlier on the cd, Jesse waking up to a big festival in, oh, I don't know, Margeretville (from the PFI song "The Margeretville Town Dance," and a dog barking at the new stranger(Jesse) appearingly seemingly from nowhere. This would create a neat little transition and connection between CoCa and PFI that fits too well for me not to think it's true. Like I said, just a theory, but I like it. |

Okay, the Titanic thing is definitely a metaphor. As some of you may know, Adam was detoxing/detoxed when he got together with Chauntelle(sp?), and felt like a new person, actually becoming a Christian (possibly based on her Christian faith or the acceptance of a higher power that goes with most rehab programs, probably both). This is where we get the first few lines talking about leaving the same way he came. Like a pheonix rising from its ashes. He felt renewed and had found love, leaving the couple feeling "unsinkable," not to use too big of a pun. Am I striking a chord yet? Then, Adam realized who she really was. This part was talked about in detail in "Everything Must Go" (basically, she was a Bible beater). From what I can reasonably infer, he's still waiting for "Carpathia," it being the thing that will let them both just laugh it all off like it was "ages ago." Just going off what I know/think I know. I could be wrong. Hope you enjoy! :-) |

Ok,anyone who says Mark is doing something "newer and better" with +44 is obviously not listening.First off, Mark,Tom,and Travis are all talented musicians,I don't want anyone to think I'm saying otherwise, but Mark is messing up and I would say Travis is equally responsible for allowing it.I have a few main points that prove this quite well. 1.Tom has admitted that he cause the break-up of blink182. Not by writing a song about it,but instead by doing certainly a better thing than Mark (and Travis) and stating it in an interview. 2.Mark is launching a new band. What WORSE way is there to do that than by releasing your first song and it being an immature, rude, biased, and poorly recorded (those drums sound like crap, electric or not, whoever mixed them should be fired) attack against Tom. I don't know about you,but to me, anyone who claims Tom is trying to make himself look like the victim is obviously not listening and letting Tom's massive excitement about as he puts it "an ATTEMPT to change the world" (he clarified this in another interview if you guys were paying attention,it should still be on their website or myspace) get in the way of hearing what the two jilted friends are sending out to the public. Mark is saying he's not goin to talk about the break-up by going around EVERYWHERE and saying he's not going to talk about the breakup, even in his new band's first song. 3. This one is for anyone who thinks "The Adventure" is specifically directed at Mark and Travis. First off, Tom began writing AVA's music a year ago. His dad was sick, his brother was sent to Iraq, and yes,Blink was falling/had fallen apart. SO, yes the song is partially about blink's breakup, but overall all the things i've listed are just examples used to convey his ultimate message which he stated as making the best out of a bad situation and moving on. Furthermore, on that message,if people caught on and learned from it, then he would do something that would change the world,or at least a portion of it. In an age where people are fast to blame the president, their girlfriend, or their best friend (see: "No, It Isn't" by +44) for their misfortune and wallow in it,Tom wants us to pick up our friends around us and move on together into a future where we make progress, not rivers of blood and tears,as when he sings "I cannot live, I can't breathe unless you do this with me." He's talking about his fans and how much he needs them to make his dream of changing the world come true. I will say though, these are just my opinions, and all ANY of us has to work off of is what we're given by the parties involved (Mark, Tom and Travis), but considering most of the points I've made here are either obvious or were drawn from interviews with the three, I am inclined to hear other arguements, but continue to favor my own arguement as of now. |
