Bob Dylan – Subterranean Homesick Blues Lyrics 18 years ago
This is a protest song folks. The first stanza as simple as the first two lines. The use of drugs "medicine" and questioning their government.

The second stanza i think just refers to cold war rhetoric, fears of accusation. Think McCarthyism. "you dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows" refers to the Weather Underground ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weatherman_(organization) )

In the end though, it's classic dylan and nothing is so simplistic

Jack Johnson – Frankie And Albert Lyrics 20 years ago
The one thing you guys all need to know about blues is that many songs are recorded by many artists.

Jack Johnson credits Taj Mahal for this song, but what he doesnt mention, perhaps he doesnt know, is that Missippi John Heart, who predates all of these artists, including leadbelly (by about 45 years), wrote a song much like this called frankie and albert.

Jack Johnson – Moonshine Lyrics 20 years ago
Obscure song on an obscure album. There arnt any lyrics to it, just him talking about a memory of his father in the begining. Much like Mud Football, this track really makes me wish i wasnt born in Illinois, how lucky he must be to have these memories living in Hawaii.

Aside from all of that though, the music is really nice. Typical jack johnson bluesy soundin melody...good stuff

Death Cab for Cutie – I Will Follow You Into the Dark Lyrics 20 years ago
This song is awesome for many reasons in my eyes.

It's simple guitar work but that does not take away from its utter beauty.

The song, as far as i'm concerend, has very little to do with death. Rather it is a song about absolute and complete love, during life, and into death.

He is telling his love that no matter what happens during life he will be there at the end, and no matter what happens at the end, he will still be there on her side.

Metallica – Tuesday's Gone (Lynyrd Skynyrd cover) Lyrics 20 years ago
These replies, many of them, are sad. As a huge skynyrd fan...i have to say that metallica made this song even better then it was before. I'm honestly not sure which version i like better.
