I think it could possibly be a commentary on leading different kinds of lifestyles.
For example in the lines
"Well, the universe is shaped exactly like the earth
If you go straight long enough you'll end up where you were"
To go "straight" means to lead an upstanding, strive for success, kind of lifestyle, and Brock could be saying that that kind of lifestyle leads to now where. |

rkpetersen I don't in the Blood to the Atlantic line that he means literally, he means in a metaphorical way as in the blood holds organisms like the atlantic/oceans holds fish, and what-not. |

I have a thought about the Universe to the Earth analogy.
What if he's comparing traveling in the universe and getting nowhere, but where you started from to starting adventures, ambitions, kids(as it seems that is what he's talking about in the song) in LIFE on the EARTH, as in he's saying "Look we had a child but then we were right back to Point A, nowhere." |

I think this can maybe have two meanings. One is the first stated about a man searching for his soul but finding anothers. Another is that a girl and a guy have a bad break up. The girl plays the guy out to be the biggest ass of all time (Dark Center of the Universe), and he says that anyone can be an ass like he was. |

Personally I heard him say once somewhere in an interview or something, that it was a about a dream where he was deep underwater, and the surface was like the sky, get it "excuse while I kiss the sky" as in excuse im going to get some air as in the surface of the water is the sky and hes swimming up and getting air. Dunno but thats my interpretation. |

Probably my favorite MM song right. I don't know but it seems to me that Isaac Brock is one of the greatest lyricist of modern music, if anyone disagrees with please present to me who is better. Maybe Robert Plant, but even then, its close. I love MM music but one thing that makes it hard for me to listen to them for long periods of time is that most of the songs and the way Brock sings them is really depressing. |

Whole song is awefully great. Last 2 minutes of the song, the guitar is so so so soooooo good, and it counters the rest of the song, as it being more faster paced. This song is probably is in the upper echelons of MM songs, but then again it seems every MM song I listen to is great. |

Isaac Brock......possibly one of the greatest songwriters of all time, it seams every MM song has some deep, theoretical meaning to it. Isaac Brock, whatever kinda of pyschotropic drugs he does to induce these thought(or if he doesn't do them to induce), is my most favorite and like I said fronts one of the best bands in modern music. |

I'm not exactly sure what this song means, I torn between two things. First, I think it could be about dying and going to heaven, meaning in the song "No cars go". Also, I don't this line should be taken seriously "Between the click of the light and the start of the dream". My second notion of what this song could mean is, the imagination that children posess, that state of mind and imagination that can't be reached by vehicles and also adults have lose the ability reach. Anyone think the same as I do? |

I simply love this song, like someone else said I'm nearing the triple didgit listening mark, the guitar is wonderfully beautiful. |
