ah! I love this song! I think this song is sung in the point of view of a friend of the guy who got his heart broken. He's pretty pissed off that this girl has caused his best friend so much misery is fine with what she's done. I love this song! it's one of my favorites from FBTMOF. Yeah. Its definetly about aguy who is in love with a girl he cannot be with (i'm guessing its because he already has someone else: "Pretend she is you") I think that him and this girl are probably friends or aquaintences, which is suggested when he says "you'd hear the news and think of me as much as i thought of you" (if she didnt know of him/if she wasnt friends with him, she probably wouldnt think of him at all...) He often mentions how he can't stop thinking of her and loves to be in the dark dreaming of her because "no matter what, [she] cant say no to [him] in [his] dreams" I dont think hes a stalker or anything though. I just think that they are neighbors or something. I dont know. i just think this song is more sweet/romantic than creepy/stalker-ish lol |

Yeah. I agree. I think its about fake people "Everyone with white teeth know the words to this one?" usually... people who have perfectly white teeth arent like that naturally... so hes dedicating this song to all those peopel who feel the need to change their appearance in order to please/manipulate people. I think this song is about some guy and he was with this girl he liked but he felt the need to move on : "the tides call my name but the land spares the depths of the sea" (moving from the "depths of the sea" ((as in the complicated relationship)) to the shore where he feels safer) I think that when they were together, she probably treated him like crap (i.e. ignoring him, not being very affectionate, and/or seeming not to need him at all) but when he finally decides to move on she realizes she does need him "you swore you could swim but what now when your feet wont touch the ground" He feels content with himself for moving on and is glad he doesnt have to deal with her anymore. "as you scream ill laugh you scream "ironic" and beg for this fever to break" Its ironic that now that they are not together anymoer she all of the sudden loves him . He finds her reaction to the break up immature and unreasonable thus the "its a childish thing you do splashing in the water...splashing" (splashing as in making a scene..) well thats my take on it... |
