i think the dood above me is completely right on, except for the last part, of "shake the hand of this man in the suit, remember we once called him friend" i think that part is talking about how you might not be able to trust anyone, the people you think are there for you, might not always be despite what they say and they'd probably sell you out for a quick fix and to able to be part of something that they believe is more. whatever thats my guess though. i do think this song is a big "fuck you" to the mainstream scene though. man i love me some fbtmof :] |

| I know I'm probably totally wrong because I don't think this to be and issue Number Twelve Looks Like You would cover but whatever its worth a shot. I think personally this song is about rasicm and war towards and against the Iraqies. "From these bloody hills comes unmixed oil and water" I came up with the whole war thing from CrayonBehindHerX's guess and figured the oil might not of been coincidental and also might symbolize war. And it says unmixed which pretty much is us not interacting with them until the whole oil thing. And "concentrated by abstract particles" Is talking about us coming together now that we want their oil and shit, and "distilled through cross pollination" saying now that we got what we wanted we are ready to fuck them over. Either that or this song is about us falling apart as a nation. Norma Jean = Pure Fucking Bliss! But, alot of people say this song is about being fucked over but personally I think its about people butting into your personal life. I think its saying no matter how much a friend wants to help you out durning tough times, or no matter how much you seek help, in the end you still have to resolve the problem yourself. Either that or its saying you can either bitch all you want about a problem you've caused, or you can do something about it and try and make it better. Yeah She Died a Virgin would probably be right on this one if it wern't Number Twelve Looks Like You writing the song. I wouldn't really take them as a band to write about abusing Christianity nor God. I'm going to give it my own guess on all of the God stuff being a metaphor for someones who's being walked all over and is tired of it. I'm thinking this whole stanza is explaining the life of the person being walked all over emphasize on the whole "I'am your marytr, your stigmata" sentence. This is telling you how much the person is devoted. As is the rest of that stanza. "The soiled ground for the sacrifice dispelled. crippling. faulty. holyland. i am your martyr, your stigmata the tears turn to blood beneath my eyes. my body listens... as you whisper my fingers bend... as im nailed to your cross" And the whole rest of the song explains how devoted the person is only to be fucked over by the person they are doing all this shit for. "The splinters etch... hearts in my back i denounce this crucifixtion, i demand another sacrifice. a cast shadow over this narrow hill pulling my fingers from these nails there will be no use for a second comming" And thats my guess |

Its weird no one has commented on this fucking beast of a song yet! But anywho honestly I have no clue what it's about, my best shot is its about a dude/ette who is killing themselves and their spirit slowly by being with someone who just isn't right for them. I figured this from the lines "cringing at the sight, flawless face dragged i giggled, kissing my fingers, type c and saliva bubbling" thats showing me their addiction, the "cringing at the sight" part and the "type c and saliva bubbling kissing my fingers find an easier way of dying, before you get murdered" part is pretty much self explanitory and screaming murder. So if you put it all together you got an addiction thats eating you away slowly! Either that or its about AIDS lol |
