| The Velvet Underground – Candy Says Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
The crossdresser makes more sense but until now I always thought Candy was a prostitute. She hates the way she uses her body and the things that happen as a result. Candy came from out on the island In the backroom she was everybody's darlin But she never lost her head, even while she was giving head. She said hey baby, take a walk on the wildside. |

| The Allman Brothers Band – Melissa Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song reminds me of my parents. My father would be the gypsie and my mother would be Melissa (which is indeed her name). My parents were divorced when I was five years old and in those 13 years, my Dad has been all over the world (in the military), known many people (and many of them being women), and accomplished many things, and no matter what he does, he cannot bring himself to forget about my mother. However, he keeps his sorrow inside, has fun, and appears not to care. As many people as he has in his life, he still feels lonely and no one hears his lonely sigh. | |
| The Beatles – Yellow Submarine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
To me, this song is about getting high with your friends (similar to With A Little Help From My Friends). lukefun interprets it about the same way I would. I also like dominicana's interpretation. Seriously people, this song can have more than one meaning. That was the great thing about the Beatles. There was always more to them than met the eye. |

| Tool – The Gaping Lotus Experience Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Somewhat: Alright, I'm sorry. That quote appeared in a list of MJK quotes. I apoligize for the mistake. | |
| Drowning Pool – Bodies Lyrics | 19 years ago |

"u guys r all nerds u cant kick no 1nes ass and u dont have a teen hangout. If u do they'd kick ur nerdy ass out." And you are a dumbass prep who cannot spell for shit. You fail. |

| Ozzy Osbourne – Time After Time Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| How do you know when Ozzy wrote this song. Just because the album was released while he was married doesn't mean that was when it was wrote. Ozzy has been through a divorce. Myave he wrote it before he got married to Sharon. | |
| Black Label Society – The Last Goodbye Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I thought this song was about Dimebag Darrell. | |
| Black Label Society – No More Tears (Ozzy Osbourne cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's good but I like the original much better. Zakk Wylde is a king. | |
| Evanescence – Cartoon Network Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Well, with the financial situation we're in, I doubt that he'll be able to adobt you. Sorry. It really doesn't matter. I don't watch Cartoon Network anymore because I'm disgusted by the cartoons they have now. However, I do like Looney Toons and some of the old Hannah Barbara Cartoons. |

| Staind – Sober (Tool cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
It's okay to listen to a cover song more than the original but you cannot say that a cover is better than the original. It's impossible. How can this version (or any cover song) be better than the original when Staind was merely copying a song and maybe incorporating it into their own style. With that being said, I thought that Staind did an execellent job musically. I liked the accoustic take on it. However, When you are covering song, get the lyrics right. I expect better from Aaron Lewis. |

| Evanescence – Cartoon Network Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I'd like to dispell the belief that yonger kids do not listen to good music. When I was six I was listening to Nirvana, Soundgarden, The Offspring, Green Day, as well as AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath. | |
| Tool – Terrible Lie (Nine Inch Nails cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Deranged Angel: Tell your friend that his cover was very well done. | |
| Evanescence – Sweet Sacrifice Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
To all of those who are bashing Evanescence for their new lyric style, think of this, the band doesn't make music for you. They make music for theirselves. They may appreciate that people connect with their music. But they do not make music to satisfy you. That is the great thing about Evanescence. As for those bashing The Open Door because it sounds different from Fallen, would you rather it sound exactly the same as Fallen. I would rather listen to a band that is not a afraid to experiment with new sounds. Anyway, there's a little thing called natural progression. Every artist goes through this. I am sure not one of you are exactly the same person as you were five years ago. Amy Lee has gone through changes and those have come out in her art. Every artist goes through this. I am so sick and tired of bands being called sell outs just because they decide to try something new. |

| Tool – The Gaping Lotus Experience Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Here are two quotes from Maynard. I have no idea whether the members of Tool are heavy drug users or not (don't really care either). But this information may help those of you who want to know. “See I think drugs have done some good things for us, I really do, and if you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor: go home tonight and take all your albums, all your tapes, and all your cds and burn 'em. 'cause you know the musicians who made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years.... rrrrrrrrreal f**kin high on drugs.” “I think psychedelics play a major part in what we do, but having said that, I feel that if somebody's going to experiment with those things they really need to educate themselves about them. People just taking the chemicals and diving in without having any kind of preparation about what they're about to experience tend to have no frame of reference, so they're missing everything flying by and all these new perspectives. It's just a waste. They reach a little bit of spiritual enlightenment, but they end up going, 'Well, now I need that drug to get back there again.' The trick is to use the drugs once to get there, and maybe spend the next ten years trying to get back there without the drug.” |

| Ozzy Osbourne – Hellraiser Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This is a great song about life as a rock star. I agree with Dustpan. I think all three of them a killer albums. Anyway, why would you call someone "developmentally disabled" just for thinking Down to Earth was a good album. He has his opinion. You have your opinion. |

| Evanescence – Call Me When You're Sober Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love this song but it is far from my favorite Evanescence song. I bought The Open Door recently and I thought that it was a good album (not as good as Fallen mind you). It had some great songs like Lithium, Weight of the World, and Good Enough. I'll admit, it is different and I had to get used to it a little bit. However, it's good that they decided to try something new. | |
| Metallica – Sad But True Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This reminds me of my EX. Hey I'm your life I'm the one who takes you there hey I'm your life I'm the one who cares they they betray I'm your only true friend now they they'll betray I'm forever there She had convinced me that she was the only friend I had and that she was the only one she could count on. you you're my mask you're my cover, my shelter you you're my mask you're the one who's blamed do do my work do my dirty work, scapegoat do do my deeds for you're the one who's shamed I would do things for her that I didn't want to do but she had controll over me and I did them anyway. hey I'm your life I'm the one who took you here hey I'm your life and I no longer care And now she has betrayed me. She was only there for me when she needed me and she was never the perfect girl that I thought she was. |

| Drowning Pool – Bodies Lyrics | 19 years ago |

It's about someone who gets pushed around and beaten so he takes out his frustrations through the art of mosh pit. Did that make any sense at all? |

| Ozzy Osbourne – Old L.A. Tonight Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think for the most part PimpSLayer187 hit the nail on the head. "Look into the future Look into my eyes and tell me everything's all right Tell me where we're going I'm so afraid 'cos I don't know what's going on with my life" It seems he is thinking about his current life and wondering, will it ever get better. "Those summer nights when I look in your eyes I'm falling to pieces, pieces out of my mind And I'll never know why I'm falling to pieces, pieces" First of all, I think it's "ONE look in your eyes" and I think he is saying every time she looks at him he begins to fall to pieces emotionally. "Who could you imagine such a thing could happen to you? It's gonna be all right in old L.A." He is saying, how could I have done what I did to you and again wonders if his life will ever improve. |

| Ozzy Osbourne – Time After Time Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Keybo7 is totally right. When people think about Ozzy they think about "a fried brained cocaine addict." But the truth is, when you get past the stutters you find a very intelligent man. This is shown clearly through his lyrics. The thing is, everyone makes mistakes. Ozzy's mistake was using drugs. That does not make make Ozzy a bad person. However, back to the song. "Time after time I guess that love is blind I couldn't read your mind" When I think of this I think of someone who had a problem (in Ozzy's case this could possibly be drugs). It was obvious that he was hurting the person that he loved but he just couldn't see it, though he should have. "I can hear them whispering Shadows in the rain Thinking how it might have been" Now he is alone. He is still in love with her and he is thinking how things could have been if only he hadn't made the mistakes he had made. Now his mind is mocking him because he messed up. "Time after time Line after line you broke mine" As Insanity said, he's refering to his heart being broken. "Day after day I watched love fade away I wanted love to stay" He sits and thinks about the moment when he watched his love leave him behind. He wishes she could have stayed with him. "Day after day The games we play The foolish things we say The pain won't go away Day after day" He seems to be referring to the way she still loves him but lies and says she doesn't to punish him and how it continues to cause pain. |

| Taproot – Birthday Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
He made a bad mistake and that mistake has cost him the person he loved. He was always paranoid and thought she didn't love him back but now he looks back on those times and sees that "All she'd show was love" but "all he saw was hate." Because of his mistake, he is alone. He dreams of another chance to speak with her. A chance to tell her how he really felt. A chance to show what he has learned from his mistake. By "fate is what i've gained" he is saying that he is glad that the incident has happened to him because it has given him a chance to learn from his mistake and he has become wiser. Now he hopes for another day to show her how much he has changed. "Strength has come and gone So now I lie in wait The void is never long The core belief in fate" He believes that someday he will have chance to show her how he really feels. He lies in wait for this day. I hope this made sense. |

| Disturbed – Liberate Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Notice how everyone has studied this song and has interpreted it differently. It's like that with every song. It doesn't matter what David Draiman was thinking when he wrote this song because everyone who reads the lyrics will come up with their own interpretation of it's meaning. Religion is the same way. Everyone who studies it will interpret it the exact same way that someone else has. David is a Jew, however in this song he seems to say that the messiah that the Jews have been waiting for may have already been here and that Jews should not limit their mind. He is saying that about all religions, do not limit your mind. Everyone interprets the teachings differently. Listening to another's point of view is a very good thing. Do not limit your mind to what other people have to say. | |
| Disturbed – The Game Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The first part of the song seems to be a person who is the victim of a woman who is fucking around with his head. "The Game" is referring to "mind games." The second two verses seem to be the woman talking saying "Though I see how much I am hurting you, I do not think you have suffered enough." The chorus is the man talking again basically saying that he could kill her. The rest of the song basically describes him killing the woman. | |
| Disturbed – Decadence Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song reminds me of a friend of mine. She's had a fairly hard life and she has done things to hurt herself (such as cutting) to escape pain. However, in public she acts happy and friendly towards other people and know one seems to realize that "she is full of pain everyday." | |
| Linkin Park – Nobody's Listening Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I'm not sure which is funnier. The Linkin Park haters who can't seem to mind there own business so they come to Linkin Park boards to bash Linkin Park fans or the fans who murder the English Language and doing little more than proving the haters right. I am 16 years old. I own both Hybrid Theory and Meteora. I also own Breaking Benjamin's We Are Not Alone and Saturate, Crossfade's first album, Korn's Take A Look in the Mirror, Life Is Peachy (not my fav.) and Issues. I also own Led Zeppelin's First album, fourth album, and Houses of the Holy. I own Pink Floyd's The Wall, Final Cut, and Greatest Hits. I love Slayer, Metallica, Testament, Exodus, and Anthrax. I even like Death Metal. Not all Linkin Park fans are depressed 12 year olds who hate their parents. I suggest to the LP haters to post under bands that they like and leave people who do like them alone. As for LP fans, act like you have a slight bit of intelligence and maybe you won't get bashed as much. As for the meaning I agree with Willow. |

| Staind – Devil Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Adding to what Tormented84 said, I think it's "A love that wasn't there." | |
| Breaking Benjamin – Away Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This song reminds me of a relationship I have with a girl. Not to long ago I hurt her feelings really bad and now she is very angry at me. I think by "Just fly away and leave it behind" he's saying Just leave me here and go out by yourself. "Clear away this hate and we can start to make it all right" While your away learn to forgive me. "Return someday with red in your eyes" Retrun after you have had a change of heart and are willing to forgive me. I hope that made sense to everyone. Then again, this is just how I relate to it. |
