| sorry about your brother man.... i'm a recovering heroin addict and lost alot of close friends to the disease. Luckly, i wasn't turned away and people that loved me cared enough to help when i was ready. But personally i don't think it can be "cured", just arrested or put in remission like cancer or something. it's always there waiting to get you if you let it. The key is knowing how to surround yourself with the right people and support because it is a lifelong battle. It gets easier with time, but never "goes away" or is "cured" in my openion. But hell, maybe you know something i dont. if ya do then fill me in, i would love to be cured from this horrible disease. it still has an effect on my life every day even though i am clean!! | |

| heroine addicts use a flame and a spoon to heat up their shit. a hallway with no doors and no rooms is a seringe. i'm not sure about the windowseall part. i used the window seal to sit all my shit on when i was getting it all ready because it had good light and a good flat spot to put my stuff....and if you o.d. then thats where you would be found?? not sure about that.... but a touch of concrete within the doorway without a sound is heroin(cause its hard and grey like concrete) and the doorway is the place you shoot up and it makes no sound to shoot up........ could be totally off, but thats how i take it, and i am a recovering heroin addict, so maybe i just hear what i want... who knows | |

i say the heroin part refers to the drug heroin. "You’re my heroin In this moment I’m lonely" as most of you probably know heroin is something that is every hard to kick, and when you are an addict if you have it, then you are alright, or at least feel that way, but when you don't you are very sick and feel like you want to die. i think he is most likely saying that he feels sick and like he wants to die when she isn't there. |

first of all, unless you PERSONALLY KNOW THE SINGER i don't see how any of you can say you KNOW what this song means. this page isn't for know it all's to tell everyone else they are wrong, its for people to speak about what they THINK is the meaning. and as anyone with half a brain knows, songs can mean whatever you want them to mean. most are written to have more than one meaning to reach a wider base of fans. its just good marketing. i believe it is about a relationship, not suicide, pesonally. this is just what i THINK, not what i KNOW. everyone should be free to THINK what they want and not be judged for it like they are some kind of sadist for having an openion, anyway, i'll break it down as i see it. "You were wrong You were right, You are gone Tonight" i think he could be saying, maybe she was wrong, maybe she was right, but either way she is gone and it doesnt really matter now if she was right or wrong. "You were free So alive You were wrong You were right" i think this means she was a person who did what she wanted when she wanted as was very lively, if the things she did were wrong or right, it never mattered. she was gonna do them anyway. it stood in their way of ever living "happily ever after" "You were down You could see You wore hearts for me You were sharp Sharp as knives You were wrong You were right " she was down when she met him, and he helped to pull her back up, bye loving her back. but she was smart and able to see that even though they loved each other it would never work. once again, it didn't matter who was right or wrong, it was all gonna turn out the same "Shot down… said you never had the chance Took a ride on a suicide romance" shot down and never had a chance because it was doomed to be a failed love by no cause of either one of them. shot down by fate. hence, suicide romance. not suicide so literally, but as in doomed to fail "Could have sworn there was somebody home To facilitate the great unknown" i think this is from his point of view. he thought there was a chance the love would work, that she would always be there to help him figure out life "Woman, I ain’t going to meet you anywhere Don’t know where I’m going yet…But I sure am getting there" he is realizing that it is doomed, so he doesnt want to meet her, because it will kill him inside. he doesnt yet know why things work out like they do, but he is figuring it out. "Shotgun fire… anybody home" again, not literal shotgun fire, but meaning powerful, explosive feelings he feels, and he is asking her if she was ever on the same page. just for some understanding of it all. "I got two dimes in the telephone Alright… It’s not easy tonight " i think 2 dimes means he is a nickel short, and he knows he shouldnt call her, but it's not 'easy tonight' not to call, beacause he REALLY wants to. so he is always stuck almost giving in. but it would do no good. "You were bound, You were free You wear black for me" you were bound meaning she was tied up by their realationship, and you were free meaning she was fee when they werent together. wearing black for him means she mourns the fact they cant be together, because she did love him too, even though it doesn't always work out that way. "You were dark Dark as night You were wrong You were right" she was dark meaning she lived a differant life than him. a harder life. maybe drugs, maybe prostotution(i cant spell that), maybe just hardship. but again it doesnt matter if she is wrong or right in what she does, because it will never change anything either way. "She’s In. Over my head…and it’s not easy it’s not easy tonight " the life she lives is not the life he lives. even though they love each other, it will never be. and for him, that's not 'easy tonight' to deal with. and trust me, its not easy, any night. "You were free…Now your not…You were free" she was free to live that life and not feel bad about it or regret it. but now that they met, and they loved each other, she wishes it was all differant. that she would have lived differantly before she met him. so now she is not so free anymore. she is bound by the feeling of missed oppertunnity that she cannot change. and he is stuck with '2 dimes' in the phone wanting to call her and see if anything has changed. just my '2 dimes" worth. probably dont even make any sense. but like i said. that's why music is great. everyone has their own openions. let me know how far off i am as far as you are concerned. i love hearing other prospectives. i think he has a girlfriend who is a drug addict, and she is dragging him down also. he knows he must let her go or go down that road with her. when he say's he 's cutting himself off he means it in two ways. 1. from the girl. 2. from the drugs and the life she brings around. am I going to have to explain half the song for u to realize its about M-E-T-H and P-O-T. and just caz its about that doesnt mean thet are big druggies. it just means they been there. so here i go, ill explain it.
