"I'm watching your universe cooling down", along with the title of the song are references to the 2nd law of thermodynamics, which states that everything in the end will become a cold, disordered "soup".
I love any references to physics :D |

She doubts his love, his intentions, but he is trying to assure her that it is genuine and true. Still, I get the feeling that there is another level I'm not completely understand. |

This song is obviously about shutting people out and protecting yourself, not giving away any weaknesses, but losing out in the end because of it. Somehow I think this is Townes talking to himself. |

This is one of the most beautiful arrangements on the debut album of Tom McRae. The piano is gorgeous, and his voice penetrates your soul.
What does it mean? I get the feeling that the "I" person has had some bad experiences, there's something that needs to be removed; "let me bleed" - a cleansing. There's another person that can help him with that, someone that can make him finally feel happy. I like this song a lot and it makes me smile. |

| Tom McRae – You Cut Her Hair Lyrics

I always thought it was about what people did after WW2 to girls who had just happened to fall in love with German soldiers. In most countries, these girls got their hair cut off "in shame", so that everyone could see who they were. Both the girls and any children they got with the foreign soldiers were harassed the rest of their lives.
But it could just as well be about nazis cutting the hair of the concentration camp prisoners. Either way, it's about what humans are able to do to other human beings. |

What if it's not about herself, but seen through the perspective of someone lesbian?
I actually think that it makes sense. |

The lyrics is slightly wrong:
In the second verse she sings "had", not "have".
Also there's other typos. |
