I can relate to this song so well because last night I took my girlfriend home and she left for college today, so the ride home was the last time I was going to see her in a long time. This song just completely describes my situation. Matchbook Romance is amazing. |

as far as a meaning for this song...there probably is no true one meaning. It could mean several things to anyone. To me this song seems like it is about someone who is confused, and they aren't sure what decision to make, so they keep floating back and forth from one choice to the other, hence the music floating from one speaker to the next and back again. I know it sounds crazy but it's just what I thought of when I listened to it. |

To me this song is talking about a typical trip on a drug, such as shrooms or lsd. Major Tom is getting ready for liftoff (hes getting ready to take the drug) and finally he lifts off and is rising in his spaceship (his high is getting stronger and stronger) until finally you reach the peak (hes up there in outer space) and finally when they lose contact with him represents your loss of reality when your tripping. Great song and one of my favorites. It has such a strong connection. Enjoy. |
