I totally have to agree with the post above, musiclover68. I can't believe how some people think this would be about Jesus! The lyrics are pretty obvious! |

Yeah, I agree with Amy_darling. I'm not very keen on this song either, but I really like Flick of the Wrist... |

Yeah, it's a very catchy song, possible one of Deacon's most underrated songs. |

Whatever, these lyrics are extremely confusing, and they should be. I mean, really, this song's lyrics can actually be twisted into John being a disturbed homosexual? |

Yeah, I agree, it should have been longer. But it's still a great song, but what genre does it belong to? Hard Rock? |

A true, but sadly very short masterpiece by Freddie Mercury. Everything about the song is just so beautiful, from the lyrics to the vocal harmonies and the piano. I really wish it was longer... |

I totally agree with the comment about the creepy parts of the song. And the fantastic vocals also make them especially creepy. |

By the way, does anyone else think some parts of the song sound a lot like "Jealousy" from the album "Jazz"? |

Yeah, I agree, it sounds like it should be on Queen II. It's still another really beautiful song from Queen, with amazing lyrics. |

Maybe Mercury just intended us to read what we like into it? Who cares what it means, all I know is that it sounds damn good.. ;) |

This is a great song about a homosexual named Michael. It's that simple. Who cares if the lyrics are gay? |

I totally agree on that this song sounds totally like something the Beatles would do. Really, it sounds like something from the Sgt. Pepper album. Still a great song, though. |

No, I don't think it's about May's sexual desires. I've read somewhere that it was just a working title, but Freddie encouraged him to keep the title Tie Your Mother Down. Probably Queen's odd sense of humour? Anyway, the riff is quite...great. |

Yeah, I agree. It's just a rock song. The lyrics don't really need to have a meaning, as long as it sounds good. But yes, you could see it as a comment about society's rules. Why not? |

Definately a great song. Really. Everything is great about it, the way the music and the words fit together. This song is so early Queen, and I love it. |

A very happy love song which seems very Freddie. I can't really see any of the other members writing such a song. Anyway, Seaside Rendezous is great, especially the lyrics. Who can any mortal come up with such great lyrics? |

Wow. Really, I mean it. This song is so... powerful. You can almost hear how pissed off Freddie sounds when singing it. And the lyrics are truly great, well done Freddie. As I said before, this is an extremely powerful song full of revenge. At least it is to me. |

| Queen – The Prophet's Song Lyrics

Hi, everyone, I'm new to this site. Well, here's what I have to say:
This song really brings out emotions in me and I can kind of picture this dark distorted Medieval world where "the kings of beasts" rule over the suppressed population who live in fear. Darkness approaches and doomsday is at hand, as the "Earth will shake in two will break" and "Death is all around". Those who are loyal to the Wise man, the prophet, will take his hand and be saved from the evil forces of hell.
This isn't exactly what I feel when I hear this song, since it's hard to describe this feeling with words. I agree with Persian eyes, this is probably one of the most underrated Queen songs. Such a shame. |
