Here is that girl from Island City, and she starts off without a job, so she gets one, and shows all those people who doubted her. She's now rich, and still trying to find her way, because she's alone. She thinks that she won't be alone if she can just be a little more successful. The singer wants her to be happy and successful, which is her dream, but he's worried that chasing her dream will be the end of her, but he still has faith in her.
There's a lot of ideas in Island City and this song. |

This is about a girl who is trying to find her place in life. She finally does this when she ends up in the "City." However, her story is not yet over, as it continues in Metropolis... |

Obviously an anti-drug song, possibly about someone he knew (like kewlkootie said, his cousin). I really like how it shows how drugs can destroy your life, and the lives of those around you, it was obviously a painful experience the singer went through.
I like the intro, and how it's added into the song toward the end. |

This is possibly the best song (in my opinion) of the album. It's also very original, with the way it all comes together. I'd say, what I like about it most is that during the verses, he slightly slurs, as if he is drinking too much while watching this catastrophe of a night.
It's also incredible, because I don't think I've ever heard the word demigod in a song before. It's awesome! |

The first time I heard this song, I thought of old-school Mario. Obviously, they are trying to invoke feelings of when we played old video games with the intro. However, my friend got to see them live, and told me the band said the song was about The Legend of Zelda. With the intro, and the lyrics, this is obvioulsy the best posssible choice for what the song is about, and it makes me love them even more. |

I agree, this song is well put together. I am also glad they didn't put too much politics into this song and ruin the purpose of it. good choice, good song. |
