Bob, while definatly idealistic, did not have a "rose colored" view of the world. he sang alot about opression and fighting for freedom. The everything is going to be allright line is in a ton of songs. I feel it is more a refference to the lulling to sleep that today's pop culture has done to us. The world is a harsh place and knowing that is half the battle. Looking back, a lot of artist had it right, from zeppelin to the doors. |

This song is obviously about what we choose to percive. The refference to platos cave is great, these lpeople chained down in a cave and can only see shadows of reality that are cast onto the wall(the screen) they are facing, when they are freed to turn and see reality, it dose not seem real and they do not accept what they see. |
