I'm pretty sure the first part is: Pack up I'm a stray My interpretation is that the first part is someone claiming that they're a "stray" (can be taken as s/he goes awry in relationships or s/he thinks that s/he's not good enough for the singer), and the singer tells them to stay anyway, and in a way promises to stay with the person. My interpretation, anyway. |

I don't even know what I think about this song sometimes... it can really take several different meanings, and some of them completely different. Most of the time I think of it as some sort of romantic situation from the different verses. + the singer is in love with someone that does not realize it, or will not be with him + the singer believes that their (potential) love could overcome any hardship that comes their way, but he's too afraid of getting hurt to tell her this ...Mmhm. |

The connotation that I take with this song has a lot to do with being with someone that you really love but having them leave you. The photograph reference obviously points to a past relationship. The rest is up to speculation, but usually I take it in the sense when the separated couple remains friends ("You're making a small change/To the way that you wear your heart/I like it better now/...And I'm stuck in the meantime/We're so close"), but the singer is still in love with this person. |

I think in a general sense this song is about a girl who is willing to give up certain things for her image in the eyes of everyone else. He presents her sad plight ("You've gotta know to hustle, to make it in this town/Cause competition is stiff as ever now/ Take another hundred, and put it in her hand/Present the prize but not the ambulance") and says that she is fine the way she is ("She walks on red carpet all the time, in my eyes") and obviously does not agree that she has to do these things to be appealing. |

Basically it's a wonderful song with a catchy melody with a huge amount of interpretations. Whoever listens to it will think of it differently. Personally, I think this song could be about how the singer likes this girl, but she won't be with him for some reason (ie, she doesn't know, she is not ready for another relationship, etc). In any case, I absolutely adore this particular piece by Something Corporate. |
