| Robin Pecknold – I'm Losing Myself Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
This song seems to be about desperation and an inability to let go of a lover. He is over-analyzing their relationship; finding it perfect in theory, but in reality it is fading and she loses interest. |

| Queens of the Stone Age – Monsters In The Parasol Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
It's about Paul's sister's vagina. The young boy has never seen anything like it and now the hairy mental image is stuck in his mind. She's not like us, she's "an alien." "She won't grow" (a dick). "You've got a hole in you I never saw"... vajay "Monster in your parasol"- see it now? |

| The Shins – Saint Simon Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
A roman candle is a typical firework that shoots multiple stars. Saying "nothing holds a roman candle to" means no one would be stupid enough to hold fireworks near the warmth of the person's feelings. In other words, the person has such warm feelings that it could set fireworks alight... "apathy releases me" is a clever line, since strong feelings like love or hate binds a person to the object of these feelings. He experiences the freedom of carelessness. |

| If I'm not mistaken, the correct lyrics are: "Settle down with me by the fire of my yearning hearth" | |

| Radiohead – Morning Bell Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Notice the sleepy, icy feeling of this song. The name being Morning Bell, it might be a wordplay on Jingle Bells. So, suppose this song is about someone who dressed up as Santa Claus or it's Santa himself gone mad with "A bump on the head" "climbing down the chimney". Imagine when the music is playing in a minor (the sad tune) it is talking about the incident, and when it's a major(the cheerful parts) it's a kid pleading to release him. So 'Santa' has climbed down the chimney and gone into some family's house. He runs around the house and makes a mess. He's robbing them and killed some of the children. Now with this scenario listen to the song: The father, Jack, wakes up (the morning bell) and wants to his family to evacuate the house with their fire drill. "where'd you park the car". He doesn't see the car where he last parked it(because it's stolen). Now he runs around his house and finds the house in a mess: "clothes are all over the furniture" and he finds his children dead, because the guy "cut the kids in half". "the lights are on but nobody's home". This guy kidnapped a kid to make him a sex slave (probably told the kid he would make him an elf) and the kid wonders why Santa would do something like this. "nobody wants to be a slave" "Everyone wants to be a friend" - a friend of Santa The Amnesiac version is different. |

Notice the sleepy, icy feeling of this song. The name being Morning Bell, it might be a wordplay on Jingle Bells. So, suppose this song is about Santa Claus - He got "A bump on the head"(knocked his brains and got amnesia) while "climbing down the chimney". He doesn't know who he is and has gone crazy. Imagine when the music is playing in a minor (the sad tune) it is talking about the incident and his madness, and when it's a major(the cheerful parts) the other part of his brain wants him to be released from his hysteria, (the Amnesiac version) So Santa has climbed down the chimney and gone crazy in some family's house. He runs around the house cutting the kids in half and makes a mess. Now with this scenario listen to the song: The father, Jack, wakes up (the morning bell) and wants to his family to evacuate the house with their fire drill. "where'd you park the car". He doesn't see the car where he last parked it. Now he runs around his house and finds the house in a mess: "clothes are all over the furniture" and he finds his children dead, because Santa "cut the kids in half". "the lights are on but nobody's home". The Kid A version is slightly different, because there it's about a child's plea to Santa to release him. "nobody wants to be a slave" "Everyone wants to be a friend" - a friend of Santa Amnesiac version is about Santa's Amnesia. Come to think of it, his amnesia might have made him think his name is Satan. |

This is one of the most beautiful love songs to me. I've listened to it for years and it doesn't lose its feeling. The Kenshin music video went well with it. |
