I thought that this song was about the writers struggle to find the "perfect" woman. It says that "they meant 22 years back, fresh out the womb" to me that meant that once he was born he had this idea of what he wanted in his future life and this song is about his struggle to find it. |

This song is obviously about ex's seeing each other at a party (at least it is to me), but I think that the very beginning of the song is representing the ex-girlfriend's point of view and revealing her plan to make her ex look like a fool, but then when she sees him walk in in his "black slacks with accentuating off-white pinstripes" she relizes that it is not going to go according to plan. Then with the "cancer" line it switches to the guy's point of view and stays like that till the end of the song. He is then revealing (and executing) his plan to make his ex-girlfriend jealous/embarrassed. I don't know I may be reading way too into the song, but that is just what I got from it....anyone agree? |
