| Blind Guardian – And Then There Was Silence Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Who ever said it's about LOTR ought to be shot. This is obviously about Homer's Illiad. It's the tale of a Trojan warrior who falls down in battle and silently witnesses the destruction of his home and people. DrakeL nailed it with the connection between Helen of Troy and lust, jealousy, etc. This song is by far the most epic piece of music written, alongside Nobuo Uemetsu's Liberi Fatali (and One Winged Angel) and Carmina Burana! | |

| Definately some Zeppelin here. One thing though I'm surprised no one noticed here was... couldn't anyone see some APC links? I mean... no particular song is similar but.. I could see this song being sung by them. I really don't know why but I tought of Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie and Counting Bodies Like Sheep when I heard this song even though the theme of the lyrics are much different. But hmm.. don't know. | |

Good song but I think that A Cautionary Song still beats it because not only was it haunting, but it was completely disturbing and it was directly related to the listener. Plus.. the last line was just pwnage. I mean comon.. After feeding you a complete demoralizing story... "Remember what she does when you're asleep!" is the perfect taunt to rub it in. |

| The Decemberists – The Perfect Crime #2 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Dunno I like this song. Definately not the Decemberists genre but then again the genre is defined by what they play, so it is their genre. The music fits in with the lyrics somehow.. I mean imagine the lyrics with the normal decemberists style.. wouldn't really go.. this kind of upbeat modern style kinda ellaborates on the playfulness of the lyrics | |

My friend mentioned this and at first I dismissed it, but upon further speculation I began to think about it, and while I don't neccesairly agree with it, its definately interesting. What if the girl is a ship? |

It's: "Go to sleep now little ugly Go to sleep now little fool" |

| Blind Guardian – Skalds And Shadows Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Yep this song is incredible. It has the same medieval style as you rightly said, but I'd consider it more epic than The Bard's Song. The melodic trail of his voice is just incredible. The ending especially is excellent. The lyrics fit quite well.. especially in the beginning. | |
| Tool – Vicarious Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It is most definately Tool Trexor... there has been a fake album circulating around, my friend has it. And let me state: omfg it sucks! The one everyone is talking about is authentic. Being a drummer myself, I have followed Danny Carey for quite some time. His rhythmic paterns can be recognized in these songs. | |

I have the album as well. It's much different from previous albums but woah its amazing. 10,000 days refers to the 27 years that Maynard's mother (Judith Marie Keenan... APC anyone? Judith was about how she was still faithful to god in her condition) was paralyzed before she passed away. I really like this album, but I do not think it shall be enjoyed by the public as much as other albums. The same happened when APC released eMOTIVE. I still think Lateralus is the best album. "So crucify the ego, before its far too late Leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical And you will come to find, that we are all one mind Capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable" |

| The Decemberists – Eli, the Barrow Boy Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Yea this song is insane.. however I wouldn't call it 'haunting' as such.. just sad and somewhat nostalgic.. like a 1900 movie in black and white... and when it's finished, you just spend 10 minutes staring at the screen | |
| The Decemberists – Of Angels and Angles Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Hmm I actually think that the song is completely literal. I appreciate your view, but see what you make of this: I guess it is sort of like a sweet serenity of dying, two lovers drowning. Now I know its a bit unimaginative, but look at There's a tough word on your crossword There's a bed bug nipping a finger There's a swallow, there's a calm Here's a hand to lay on your open palm today Tough word on your crossword, bed bug nipping a finger.. think of a middle aged or elderly couple laying in bed late at night, with a lamp on. The wife is doing a crossword, and whenever she gets stuck she calls ehr husband. The husband might notice a bug on his wife, and shoo it away. These are everyday happenings, and so I believe the message is that they are drowning but everything is normal, everything is as it always was, sweet serenity. The swallow and calm bit is to show that they are both nervous but are happy doing this, as they believe it shall unite them forever. And of course the open palm, well thats just a sign of love and strength. I think the Angels and Angles part has to do what was previously mentioned, except I'd like to add a bit more. The use of the word 'angel' represents beauty, from a non-lusty point of view. Their bodies are just beautiful to each other, subtle yet beautiful. And the low moon I guess is to represent "peace" again. Watcha think? |
