lizzie...i am ashamed for you. She has hit CD's because she is the result of the media and the record labels. If you see, record labels tell you what to listen to because they are the CD's that get marketed to the teeny-boppers, and they tend to buy their music...whether it's good or not. It's a popular concept that have been around probably since The Monkees. |

The song is great. I have no clue what it means. Thats why I came here. Good melody, the lyrics are just great because it makes no sense. Taking a shot in the dark, but maybe his Uncle wasn't happy he joined the navy, but he thought it would be a good thing for him. Navy guys get stationed around like gypsies. idk. Still makes no sense. Oh well, lets dance. |

| Billy Joel – Scenes From An Italian Restaurant Lyrics

**Corrections**
Of course, his first album, "Cold Spring Harbor" is a town that borders with Syosset. In "Ballad of Billy the Kid" he references "From a town known as Oyster Bay, Long Island" (The township where Syosset, and Cold Spring Harbor are located).
"The Village Green" is on Jerusalem Road in the East Meadow area; and "The Parkway Diner" is on Hempstead Turnpike near the Wantaugh Parkway. (Also, "Are you going to cruise the miracle mile" from "Still Rock and Roll to me" refers to the same strip of Hempstead Turnpike.)"
First of all, he lived in Hicksville so the 'Village Green' he is refering to is on Newbridge Road by Holy Trinity High School. Also the Miracle Mile is not on Hempstead Tpke but as Down623 said on Northern Blvd in Great Neck/Roslyn area with Tiffany's, Fortunoff, and a couple of other stores. And, I am not 100% positive on this but wasn't the Parkway Diner (again in Hicksville) was by Wantaugh Pkwy on Old Country Road? Also when he mention Oyster Bay, Long Island, while that could be accurate, but being that he grew up in Hicksville which is in the Town of Oyster Bay, he may be mentioning that part of town. I live in Levittown on the Hicksville boarder so this is my area, and I think I would know where everything is, while Parkway Diner I'm not sure of because that was past my time. Hope this was insightful! :) |

I love this song. The words are so powerful. I live on Long Island so this song speaks true to me. It is a picture of New York, if god forbid, something happens to the city. And I'm pretty sure it's the Mafia took over MEXICO. Although Jericho would sound right, a rich town with money, was taken over by a bunch of mobsters...LOL but it's not so idk...Amazing Song though. |
