| Third Eye Blind – I Want You Lyrics

I think that the part about the vampires means that he wants to take care of her, to take on everything that drains her of her vitality, her liveliness, basically he wants her to be trouble-free. He's offering himself to her as a sort of savior.
And the worms, I think, is definitely a reference to being buried-- hence having no regrets in death. |

I don't like the original version of this song-- but there was a remix called like the battle mix, and its way less poppy. i like it much better. great for working out |

Anyways, this is a really great song.... I'm not quite sure why more people don't know about this band. I think it's about someone who lives totally for the moment, but doesn't consider consequences.... sometimes that's good, sometimes that's bad. Thoughts anyone? |

I think that the last verse is really beautiful... perhaps the song is about war, the decay of humanity(hence the part about being buried-- which also is obviously a reference to a soldiers death, and the mention of Armageddon). Great song. |

well, i don't think it necessarily has to be about someone famous or well-known... some people consider their families and friends heros-- he could be talking about a friend that betrayed him or someone he loved selling out.... |

This song has had so much of an impact on my life. A couple of months back, I can truthfully say that I was severely depressed. Part of it had to do with Hurricane Katrina- though it didn't physically take anything from me-- emotionally and spiritually, it drained me. I didn't feel like any of my family or friends could identify with what I was feeling--- like they didn't understand. Music was my refuge-- and this song really hit home with me. I don't know what I would've done without this band-- they were the ones that got me into music. So anyway, I kinda credit this song with keeping me somewhat sane. :) |

this is, in my opinion, the best part of the wall songs.... the intro with the breaking glass is amazing and its just very cool. It's basically about him giving up on the world and deciding it's not worth it. It doesn't mean he's saying the actual wall isn't worth it--- he's saying life isn't... and on the CD, the next song is "Goodbye Cruel World"--- suicide??? |

you can pretty much write anything you want down so chill people....I think it's about a person realizing that everything they once believed in and thought was important isn't nearly as stable or important as they thought. Like realizing that material posessions and things of that nature don't matter, |

this song was actually supposed to be on the spiderman 2 soundtrack-- thats what they wrote it for. if you've seen the movie, you can obviously see how the lyrics go along with it....meaning the kind of double life peter parker was leading... all the other ideas are valid as well but i just figured i'd let you know... |

| 3 Doors Down – Dangerous Game Lyrics
|
|
I agree that it stemmed from a wester gun duel, but i absolutely do not think thats what the song is about. He uses symbolism and thats why he's talking about a gun fight. The "game" that they play may be lying to each other or trying to hurt each other, whereas in when he says "what will we do? what will we say when it's the end of this game that we play? will we crumble into the dust my friend or will we start this game over again?" he's saying basically "when this fight is over, what will happen to us?" like, will they make up or not or will they just start the whole cycle over again? It's about focusing on the wrong things-- hence the 2nd verse about gaining something and losing a life (life = friend) |

i've only heard clips of this song on iTunes-- in the German store. It was never released in the U.S. and therefore, we can't buy it over iTunes. Help! | 3 Doors Down – So I Need You Lyrics

this is not a song about a father and daughter-- i don't think anyway. It wouldn't make much sense then. I think mainly, it's him asking "will you trust me and follow me in the unknown-- meaning the future?- to his girlfriend or someone really close to him. He's saying he not only loves her but he needs her in his life and he needs her to love and need him too. |

| Shinedown – Better Version Lyrics

He could be speaking to a specific person or just society in general. He's saying (obiviously) that he never said he was perfect so they shouldn't expect him to be and also that he's not going to conform to their standards. I love the verse about the wall because to me, he's talking about how he doesn't want to be a part of it all b/c it's all fake so he puts up this "wall" but he doesn't like it. He wants the superficiality to end and for people to see who he really is without having to worry about them judging him unnecessarily. |

I think it's about a relationship in which the person he's talking to is trying to steer him in a particular direction. He may not want to go that way, but the person has the best intentions. He's saying-- go ahead and tell me what you want me to do but that doesn't mean I'll actually do it. |

| Shinedown – Burning Bright Lyrics

To me, this song is about finding yourself and he's having real problems with it. There is definitely a hint of depression in the line "Nothing's ever wrong, but nothings ever right". He either doesn't know who he's meant to be or does know who he is and just doesn't like it. I think it may be he realizes who he is but doesn't want to accept it. I love the "I pretend to close my eyes" part because I think it's saying that he pretends that he doesn't see the truth-- pretends he's someone else. The "constant shame of my exsistence"-- Wow that is a brutal line... but I think i understand it... it's like he doesn't feel worthy of being alive even, maybe because he's not true to himself. Maybe he feels like he is supposed to be sad because it's kind of like paying for being alive. |

| Shinedown – 45 Lyrics
|
|
I could be totally off base here but I think that it's certainly anti-suicide, but really more than that. It's saying that nothing is too broken to be fixed, that there is always hope for a better life and that suicide is not the best way out. I think the man in the song feels like no one understands him or knows him (the feelings that no one knows...) and that after keeping all those feelings inside, he's reaching his breaking point. The perfect world part is what he's wishing for and the part about an unborn child is, I think, about someone who hasn't felt that kind of pain before and that if they ever do his advice is to seek the truth ("keep your eyes open"). Everyone is overly critical of him and they don't see who he really is (about the last verse). The "45" could be an actual gun or it could be facing your fears. |

I think it's about how people are always complaining about the world and what's wrong with it but not doing anything to change it. It's saying how there's so much deception that it's hard to see the truth about the world and how it truly is screwed up sometimes. |

this song is about how someone is trying to tell him what to think but he's saying kinda saying they don't have the right to be telling him what to do becaues they won't help him if he screws up. it's about this never ending cycle he gets into with someone and how he hates it and how the person thinks they know a lot more than they actually do. |

| Lynyrd Skynyrd – Sweet Home Alabama Lyrics

First, I want to start out saying that I do not think Lynyrd Skynyrd was a racist band at all. This song is an answer to Neil Young's two songs "Southern Man" and "Alabama". Lynyrd Skynyrd was just trying to defend the south, their home. You could argue that the verse about the governer (who at that time supported segregation) was racist... but theres a
"boo boo boo" part after that, like they're dissapproving. And where they're saying "we all did what we could do", I interpret that as meaning they did what they could do to help end segregation and have people viewed as equals. Simply put, this song is a tribute to the South. Oh yeah, and it rocks. |

| The Police – King Of Pain Lyrics

Yeah... basically it is a guy saying how depressed he is... but it's a surprisingly beautiful song if you really listen. It's about a man saying he's destined to always be hurting, that the pain will never go away no matter what he does or where he goes. He's asking for someone to help him but ultimately knows they can't. |

Yes... it does have to do with admiring someone but I think it also has to do with feeling like you have too much. After he sings about the girl in the park (stay with me here...i'm getting to a point) he has the chorus-- saying if i could be like that... almost like he's saying he wishes that those things were all he needed and even wanted...like he's carrying this guilt for having more than that... maybe that's just me |

| 3 Doors Down – Life Of My Own Lyrics
|
|
To me, this song is about finding a meaning to live. It sounds like he feels he's just going through the motions and looking for a purpose. Although he's not fearing life, he doesn't feel alive. He doesn't know what to believe in. He doesn't want to conform to what everyone holds true and wants to stay true to himself, but doesn't exactly see a point. It's optimistic and pessimistic at the same time. |
