| Suede – This Time Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| brilliant song about urban city life and its inherent dullness. the first verse is what got me hooked on this song, cars collide in citys so often everyday, it hardly matters lol | |
| Suede – Where The Pigs Don't Fly Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i think this is just one of them songs that got written on drugs but the riffs were really good so they stuck it on the album lol. i am glad they did, i love it. | |

it is an optomistic song, despite its sombre feel. the lyrics are about not sinking to a depression after a relationship ended. its also about sacrifice..."So we sold the car and quit the job And shook some hands and wiped the make-up right off, And we said our good-byes to the bank Left Seven Sisters for a room in a seaside shack" this is about making sacrifices for a better future, and sometimes in life, you have to lose things that you dont really need in order to appreciate the simpler things in life. its one of my all time favourite songs and the song that truly got me interested in suede as a band when i saw them perform it on jools holland show by chance. |

| Wings – Live and Let Die Lyrics | 19 years ago |

imo this "What does it matter to you? When you gotta job to do You gotta do it well You gotta give the other fellow hell" means that the petty things, although wind us up sometimes, mean nothing in the long run |

| TLC – No Scrubs Lyrics | 19 years ago |

it means " i value money over love, so dont come near me if you only got love to give" sums up the whole modern RnB / Rap scene quite simply. im sick of seeing rappers like 50cent, jay z and the like dripping in gold and surrounded by paid women who act like ego accessories. once upon a time rap music was about the street. notice jayz say he was gonna boycot crystal champagne cos they didnt want to be associated with him? ha @ being rejected by the very people who and others like him are trying to get with. serves you right for projecting your fake a$$ image money hoes! hehe rant over ;) |

ok heres one, in need of education in the rain! the traditional meaning of rain in the unconscious mind and dreams is crying/tears therefor emotional pain. the fact that crying is itself a healing thing to do, could suggest that the singer is in need of some sort of emotional healing for past pain in childhood ect. the fact that it is at the station conjures up an image of a train, and therefor a 'traiin of thought'. |

Is it any wonder why princes and kings Are clowns that caper in their sawdust rings? Ordinary people that are like you and me We're the keepers of their destiny We're the keepers of their destiny this lyric is obviously about the way the working class are made to 'keep' the royals and aristocrats in there luxurious lifestyles cos without the working classes working hard and paying high taxes they wouldnt exist. we are the keepers of their destiny refers to the fact that we could rebel and choose to reject those people at anytime. |

i got this song on a tape given away with melody maker newspaper back in 1995 or 96 and its been a favourite of mine since. love the lyrics saying But don't you know I should have stayed in England On my polluted beach With all my special friends its meaning is basically as much as the sunshine holiday is great, England is where there hearts are, where they know whats what and whos who. the humour in the lyrics is very typically british, comedy nuns and self efacing words. it does put me in a good mood to listen to this song. |

| James Blunt – Tears And Rain Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| have to agree with ash, this song is mostly about getting back to ones true inner self, without the need for the 'props' that society and convention inflicts upon us. it is a very well written, beautifully sung introspective song by one of Britains finest :) | |
| Bruce Springsteen – Brilliant Disguise Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| agree with jtwlhhb the song is about ones own self doubt and how it transgresses to others in relationship through the projection of ones feelings onto others. it is a brilliant song. | |
