| Geto Boys – Mind Playing Tricks On Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| pop eyes is a place for fried chicken. it would make sense that willie d, a black male from texas, would pull into popeyes and say he was doing so in a rap song because a lot of people can relate to popeyes who listen to rap... not to be stereotypical hehe but black people have been known to enjoy fried chicken | |

| Tom Petty – American Girl Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| it seems like it is about a suicide. that thought came to me without any regards to this thread or to any tom petty folklore, so i'm going to have to say that i think this song is about a girl committing suicide because there wasnt much to life left for her, maybe her boyfriend died... stuff like that, then she jus lost it all at the wrong time, when she was up on a balcony, and ploop, jumped off... :( | |

| Pink Floyd – Sheep Lyrics | 20 years ago |

"Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away, Only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air You better watch out, there may be dogs about. I've looked over Jordan, and I have seen things are not what they seem." This describes the people who are disconcerned with the world around them, and only live their lives out without concern to more worldly events that impact the whole human race, and in doing so eventually get herded and used as pawns by those who actively seize power. Ignorance is bliss though, right? "What do you get for pretending the dangers not real. Meek and obedient you follow the leader down well trodden corridors, into the valley of steel. What a surprise! A look of terminal shock in your eyes. Now things are really what they seem. No, this is no bad dream." "Valley of steel", if you think of this allusion you could easily see an army being led by a leader, typically one who has taken charge over the sheep, into a field of steel, or swords and javelins and all of that good stuff. Now the sheep are watching each other die, in horror, they wish that they could go back and stop the danger that they sensed slightly in the previous verse, but they can't. They carry on protecting themself now that it is too late. The horrors that they are seeing now appear like a bad dream in comparison to when they lived harmlessly, or peacefully, but it is not, and they must cope. "The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want He makes me down to lie. Through pastures green He leadeth me the silent waters by. With bright knives He releaseth my soul. He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places. He converteth me to lamb cutlets. For lo, He hath great power, and great hunger. When cometh the day we lowly ones, trough quiet reflection and great dedication, master the art of karate, lo, we shall rise up, and then we'll make the buggers eyes water." The robot is saying this prayer because through religion the sheep-like people are dehumanized. They follow religion blindly, they do not pay attention to the rather awkward statements in the end because they have in fact blinded themself and will do anything that they are told. "Bleating and babbling I fell on his neck with a sceam. Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity unto the dream." The sheep-like people are to protect themself in the name of God. They are demented, like an angry mob. They rise up, and end the nightmare cheerfully. (I'm tired, I don't feel like overanalyzing this part, it would take too long... could mean so many different things.) "Have you heard the news? The dogs are dead! You better stay home and do as you're told, get out of the road if you want to grow old" They've won, but now they have decided it is best to live harmlessly unconcerned with whatever is going on in the outside world. They have not learned from the past, and inevitably will have to face future opressors. This is a common event in world history. People take control, have control for so long they take it for granted, and lose control through their own arrogance and apathy. |

| Pink Floyd – Comfortably Numb Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| It is indeed about the world numbing your emotions, I relate to this song very much... typically when some people I know when they ask me what's up I'll tell them I'm comfortably numb. Sad song. | |

He won't have it , he knows his whole back city's ropes This line sounds to me like it says "He wont have it, he knows his whole backs to the ropes" or something like being against the ropes in a boxing match sort of... I don't know the meaning behind city's ropes... I think hes saying that his back is either being held back by ropes, you know, like he's chained... or that he's losing a fight but he knows he can come back... let me know what you think this lyric truely is, and if the poster of these lyrics was correct. |

| Eminem – Lose Yourself Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song's about your opportunity to shine, in an activity or for just in life. I always listen to this song when I'm about to play an important baseball game or do anything that is important to me in general. One life, one shot to come out on top. Capture the moment and run with it, see where it takes you. A very motivational song. | |
