| Dream Theater – Innocence Faded Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I'm pretty sure this about Kevin Moore becoming more distant and separate from the group. | |
| Dream Theater – Lie Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Kevin Moore did write Lie. It could be about feeling betrayed and lied to in a relationship, or by the band. We'll never really know, but I'd put my money on this being his feeling towards the band. |

| Dream Theater – The Mirror Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
It was called "Puppies On Acid" because they made up fake lyrics that go with the melody played at the beginning. "Puppies on acid, aren't they a lovely sight, puppies on acid, I would eat them if I might". Although the lyrical themes are similar, it's not really connected to "Lie", just the music is. |

| Dream Theater – Another Day Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's about John's father's struggle with cancer. The song is his son telling him not to give up and accept an imminent death, he should instead fight and work to live on. | |
| Dream Theater – Voices Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's about the conflicts of sexuality and religion. | |
| Dream Theater – The Answer Lies Within Lyrics | 19 years ago |

First of all, this song is beautiful. The music is pretty good, but the reason that it's looked down upon is because the lyrics are so fucking cliche it's ridiculous. |

| Dream Theater – Octavarium Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
The whole song and album pretty much is about the circular nature of life. We are all "trapped inside this octavarium" in that no matter what we do, we end up where we started. This is a metaphor to the musical octave in that no matter where you go, you end up back at the same note. I'd say that "Someone Like Him" is about not wanting to be stuck in that "octavarium", it's about being young and thinking that I will never live that monotonous, repetitive life. "Medicate" is probably about getting help to get out of that rut he's stuck in. Maybe he temporarily feels fixed, but in the end, he's still stuck in the cycles. "Full Circle" is made up of musical puns and common sayings that doesn't really mean anything, it's just used to show how things connect. The chorus of this part, though, is clearly about being stuck in the same thing over and over. "Intervals" contains little summaries of the album's tracks. In the end it comes back to being trapped inside the Octavarium, it has again come full circle. "Razor's Edge" is pretty self-explanatory. We move in circles, we can't get out. "This story ends where it began" just sums it up. |

| Dream Theater – Light Fuse and Get Away Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I read that Mike Portnoy said this song was about Kevin Moore's personal experience, so I think what you said is sort of correct, but Kevin was the one being used. | |
| Dream Theater – Metropolis, Pt. 1: "The Miracle and the Sleeper" Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This song was taken in 1996 by Dream Theater and expanded into a whole story line, which eventually became the Metropolis, Pt. 2 storyline that we all know. "The Miracle" and "The Sleeper" refer to the two brothers, Edward and Julian, respectively. Originally, this song was not based on the Part 2 storyline. This is from the DT FAQ at their website: " It is based on the story of a telepathically-linked Romulus and Remus from Virgil's Aeneid...Petrucci wrote it as a sort of fantasy epic, inspired by the likes of Yes and Rush." |
