This is my favorite track off the album. It's definitely about losing someone you love to someone else, and wondering if there's still a chance to work it out. I think the significance of ashes and wine might be a relationship that's burned up and burned out, but with the wine, I'm not sure. The wine gives rise to an image of romantic dinners, but could it also have to do with the fermenting/decaying process? That seems a little bit of a stretch. |

This song's about how J5 is keeping true to the artistry of music, writing their own songs based on actual events on their lives, while everyone is a product of corporate schemes, and only there to make money. And even though they're more famous now, they're still the same artists they were before their fame. |

I think that this song is talking about a frustrated member of a best friend duo who is in love with his friend, but she is too independent to be tied down. The singer sounds more vulernable and weak ("if we survive, are we free of the dumb luck that surrounds us and we get stuck between the places I messed up") and the best friend sounds stronger ("when you can't break through with the one that you want"). He's just frustrated, but it sounds like he's kind of accepted it too. He's just wondering if he even has a chance. I heart this song. |
