I'm not quite sure but i'd assume - this song is about a boy (Peter) and his struggle to grow up - you've got lines like - "but peter never took the time to look and stop" - i'd assume that means that you should appriciate your childhood while you've got it where in this song peter just wants to move on - "the sun" - i don't know who he/she is - keeps peter from growing up too quick - the sequel "revisted" is about how peter did grow up - and stop thinking too much on the future |

everyone seems to argue over what or who Captain Jack is - i personally always thought this song was about a kid with a really shitty life, is going nowhere and has nothing to do but jerk off, and do drugs - captain jack i always assumed was the drug dealer giving this kid all his shit - i could see captain jack being jack daniels, or heroin or something - great song - i couldn't stop thinking about this while i was reading catcher in the rye - (this kid in the song is holden) |

basically i think this song is about a dude whos' going through a lot of shit in his life - probably something involving a girl and something involving drugs - lines like "i got booked last nite i need another fix dig" - or "this woman woke me up at a quarter to three" (he can't sleep cause he's thinking about this girl) and basically he's looking for advice and realizes other people have problems (in this case the man giving the advice) and that he doesn't need drugs or women to get by in life - great song |

this is probably my favorite song written ever. It's about being a loser growing up and becoming something more as you age - as well as the "cool kids" who went nowhere - this song has always cheered me up when i was feeling low. It gives you some optimism that everything will be alright in the end. I also like the combination of a cool quiet feel with a hard rock feel throughout the song. |
