| Self Against City – Always Lyrics

so after a year, i finally figured out the talking part near the end. haha. it goes:
"you are a nice boy."
"oh. that's not fair to say."
"and i was almost a nice girl. everything's gonna be alright."
that part was driving me crazy. anyone know what it's from cause i don't believe it's by the band members. sounds like a clip from an old movie or something. |

| Self Against City – Yours Isn't the First Lyrics

amazing song. one of my favorites on the new CD. pretty self-explanatory i believe. just a few corrections. the interlude should go:
now i'm raising butterflies in the hearts of those who feel alive
studying their metamorphosis from ordinary to perfect beings
just the same as changing lanes, timing is and will be everything
and when half is full you will begin to understand |

| The Killers – Uncle Jonny Lyrics

Taken from Brandon's song by song guide to Sam's Town:
"Uncle Jonny is my mother’s brother. He’s the black sheep of the family. Every couple of years something would happen. He’s done everything from shoot himself to drug addictions yet somehow he’s ended up alright. He’s really a nice guy. He’s heard the song and he’s happy to be immortalised because he’s a rocker, he’s always got a Zeppelin shirt on. Jonny deserves the song’s riff (laughs). You don’t usually use the word riff with us, but this is one of the greatest riffs of all time. I guess it’s a little bit inspired by being on the road with U2. We learnt a lot from watching them." |

After running the song thru Adobe Audition and removing the music... it's "i promise i'll build it twice, the best." :) that line had been driving me crazy ever since i first heard the song. all in all - awesome song. :) |

amazing song. one of my favorites on the album. yes, their voices, while not the strongest and best voices ever, are great. their voices mesh so nicely and make the song all that it is. |

| Taking Back Sunday – Twenty-Twenty Surgery Lyrics

awesome song. i think it goes deeper than just eye surgery. i believe it's talking about cosmetic surgery as a whole to make a person look better. "cheap dollar signs doll up a picture perfect point of view". making the person perfect in the eyes of everyone else. in other words, beautiful and what everyone wants to be. and now anyone can get this cause there are cosmetic surgeons everywhere. |

Saw TEN in concert and Ace said the song was about never knowing what to say and not saying the right things when you need to. :) |

Definitely gonna have to go along with the people that say the feelings are still lingering between the two. And as someone else said, the line that gives it away the most is, "And I'll be happy for you/If you can be happy for me". There's just the whole feeling to the song that goes deeper than words about how things really are. But hey... maybe we're all totally off base here. But if I had to guess... I'd take this route. I mean, when you're in a band for that long... and spend that much time together, the feelings are liable to never really fully go away. *shrugs* In closing, an absolutely amazing song! |

Yeah, it's definitely "don't quit till forty-seven." And I keep asking myself, "what the hell does that mean?" Haha. I have absolutely no idea. And I like the video. Especially the beginning where William walks in and is kind of mouthing the words. |
