i dont really think this song is about drugs or relationships at all. i think when he wrote it, jim was just trying to capture this emotion of pure happiness. okay, yeah, it could be drug induced happiness, or love induced happiness, but that's not important. the lyrics are really minimal in this song, it's more about the music. music gives you that feeling more than the words. i also think that he's trying to prove that the happiness is pure, because you've really let go (strength from your tether unwinds) and none of the usual shit really matters (when words lose their meaning/i wont play your hide and seek games). and he's just spinning free, being happy. |

i think its about a couple who were in love, but one of them fell out of love. suddenly, everything the singer does feels wrong, because he feels like he has to really work hard to stay with her ("i'm not exactly sure what i should say, everything i do is a mistake"). but as long as he has her attention, and they're still physical, and she tells him how great she thinks he is, in his mind, everything's okay. but you can tell when he's singing the chorus that everything's really not okay. by the end of the song, when he's talking about all the things they'll never ever know, he's sort of come to terms with the fact that it's over for both of them. |
