| Hot Cross – Existence Lyrics

Hey, sorry for the delay...it only took me a year and a half to edit this. Better late than never, I guess!
The lyrics I originally submitted were actually based on the rough studio demo Hot Cross released about a year before Risk Revival came out (they released Existence and Rejoinder, I believe). Some of the words changed in the final version (the lyrics you provided), but others were just me being off with my hearing. I believe "knives" was originally "guns" and "slipping" was DEFINITELY "tripping" at first. Regardless though, I very much appreciate your corrections.
It's a bit hard to believe that so much time has passed since I submitted these lyrics initially...Hell, I was 16. Time flies and it's these little things that keep bringing us back. |

That last line definitely fits for the person above me. Learn your history, kid. It was Salem. |

I think you sound less like a tool than most of the people on this site, haha.
Doesn't sound like you're too far off with your interpretation. When a fad dies, they stop blending in. Doesn't really sound like anyone in that song is growing up though. |

To sedated_emotions:
I said that too after the first few times I listened to the CD the first few times. Then I realized:it doesn't sound bad, but it definately doesn't sound like their old stuff. One reason is because Josh isn't there anymore. I have no clue why Billy used effects in his voice. However, this about this: how long would you really enjoy them if they sounded the same every record?
On the other hand, congrats on being a little scene conformist. It's not about what you want everything to sound like. As I've said, it's better to be different. As long as there is some insight, significance, and effort in the songs, they shouldn't be dissed or rejected (unless you think you can do better, of course). Now, go look up "screamo" on urbandictionary and make your playlist for the week. |

No wonder they named the album after this song. For a song that's less than two minutes long, it's extremely powerful. So many contrasts and harmonies.
The message is about the corruption of every younger generation by older ones. Quite genius. |

I was just looking over Saetia lyrics for the first time in forever and I realized that this song (more or less) contains a rhyme scheme unlike all (at least I think it's all) the other ones. That makes it quite unique. |

| You And I – 143(jcm) Lyrics

143 is "I love you" (1 letter, 4 letters, 3 letters). So technically, that line is the same thing as the Usurp Synapse song title "What would you do if I said 'I love you'?" |

Not only do we not have control over anything, but we also control everything. The song implies that man himself is the plague. |

| Hot Cross – Finger Redux Lyrics

In Midnight's Children, there is a chapter called "Alpha and Omega." Rushdie suggests in the second paragraph that an alternative title for the chapter could have been "Finger Redux." I wouldn't be surprised if that played a part in the naming of this song as Billy is pretty big on Rushdie. |

I finished it a while ago. The ending seemed a bit unresolved, but it wat was nonetheless a great place to leave it off.
I'd reccommed it. Fuck, I'd point a gun to your head and make you read it because the book is just that good. |

Ruthless killing at war. That's what this song makes me think of, especially Vietman. Just the whole helpless atmosphere where you're walking through a booby trapped jungle while you're being attacked by guerilla fighters. You're pretty helpless; that's what "when we can't save ourselves" made me think of. |

The last Hot Cross show I went to, Billy was on stage, and right before they played this, he said "This song is about myspace."
Whether he was joking or not is beyond me, but I can totally see it. |

It's contradicting the idea of "Birds of a feather flock together." When it's talking about history/histology and biography/biology it's saying that just because the words have the same root "histo" and "bio", they aren't even close to similar. People are unique. People change. Some move on, while others don't. |
