| Nicely done. You've obviously put enough time into the band to sound intelligent in your post. So, your English skills are top-notch, as is your ability to be rational. What happened to your ability to give something a chance, if not attempt to realize that bands don't tailor their sound to what your idea of them is? Out of place, eh? We all know they've never changed tempo or thrown a dynamic or two into their music, right? I'll write them, and personally ask them to send you an "apology letter" for their disgraceful attempt at music at this point in time. Indie music abounds, buddy. Hit up your local "holier than thou" music store for the latest and greatest, then bitch about them in 5-8 years. Peace. | |
| Anberlin – Feel Good Drag Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Hey douchebags. It's a song, written by a band desiring the fruits of mainstream success. Yeah, they're a Christian band. Yippee. I actually like this song in spite of that fact. I'm sure they have their personal agendas interwoven in the lyrics, but they are equally as likely to be attempting to hit a chord with people unlike you. Like me. The people that don't need "God" to justify their every move or thought. Pathetic. |

| Anberlin – Feel Good Drag Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Just a thought, but this song has righteous tendencies. As such, the girl he's speaking to is clearly the lesser of the two. Maybe she strives to be what he 'thinks' he is, and thusly, his "outline" is desired by her. She knows what she's doing and appreciates that aspect of him. You know? In principle... He knows she fails, yet there's something about him that she clearly desires. Just a typical example of a weak guy letting a non-deserving girl get away with whatever she thinks she can. |

| So, then. What's it about, you pretentious little prick? Anarchy only exists when it's a concept, not an agenda. Regardless, it's a great song. You shun the conversation when you join it. Yet, you offer NOTHING to the topic. Please elaborate, and let us all know what your take is. | |

| If you like the song, and find meaning in it as such for you, good on you. Peace. | |

I'll play ignorant advocate to this conversation, but I've listened to this song for 2+ years, and always figured it for a blatant outcry for the environment. I've always respected that. Yet, tonight, it hit me differently, and my romantic life hasn't changed, for better or for worse, for 8 months. Yet, this song actually took on a different meaning, and maybe doubled it's significance to me in the end. I've adored this song before, and will continue to adore it in another meaning, depending on how I'm feeling. For the record: I'd rather it help change the world like I originally rallied behind, than it change anything personal for me. Peace. |

| Rise Against – The Strength to Go On Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I know that I wasn't asked, yet I'll give a quick response, regardless. @ILikeThatPanda, I'm going to go ahead and venture a guess that few - if any - of these guys are Christian. Being that they stand in opposition to just about everything that Christian Society has created, I'd be blown away to learn otherwise. Frankly, with their world view, the way events are really going down and the way things are headed, I can't imagine why they'd believe in any god at all. Maybe Buddhism, at the worst. It is a damn good question though. Because I've wondered the same. Too bad the likelihood of them over proclaiming a religious-alliance (if any) is next-to-nil. And good on them for it. Don't let the nonsense get in the way of the truth, right? |

You, Merkaba311, are a trail-blazing genius. I've been waiting for a comment on this song that's legitimate, and you've done taken the cake. Possibly my favorite song off of "Uplifter", and I'm glad somebody put it into words. Why in the fuck are there only THREE comments on this song??? |

| Rise Against – Savior Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Any song with this sort of passion could NEVER come from a "week-long relationship". This may be one of the finest tracks ever put down, in ANY format or decade. Don't sell it short with your juvenile interpretation of a juvenile dynamic. These guys don't sing about "rebounds". Be ashamed, be very ashamed.... Seriously. |

I think your humble attempt at proclaiming an opinion is right on the money man. This song is way too fucking profound and perfect for you to be wrong. Good on 'ya dude. And I mean that. Peace. |

Anyone have anything worth a shit to say about this song? Maybe a little insight as to what the song means? Compare this to "American Idiot", and I wouldn't argue, except for the fact that it's a different band, a different perspective, and a different attitude. Maybe it's about somebody falling apart, while their ex-lover, or soon-to-be ex-lover, watches them wilt away with the perspective of sheer joy, thus the author chooses to leave the subject, resulting in the author feeling better about themself as a result. Getting ahead while the "getting is good". Or maybe, just maybe, it could also be the opposite. Somebody so insecure in the possibility that they fucked it all up, they have no choice but to project the blame on the innocent party. All the while, they feel clean and unscathed thanks to their ability to pass the blame. "I'm out of this situation smelling like daisies!!" "You aren't who I thought you were!" Either way, it's fucked, and it's typical. Welcome to our Human Condition. Good Luck, and let's discuss further. OR...??? Maybe it's about something else, which I'd LOVE to hear about-since nobody on this fucking site can contribute anything other than "this sounds like 'American Idiot'". Way to go guys. |

"Personally, I think all of the fighting is a tid bit childish and it needs to be stopped. the reason for this site is to discuss lyrics and their meanings...and if you want to fight, then do it somewhere else."...... .....agreed. My fault at one point. "I don't know how many people here are hoping that they go back to their old sound? huh? I mean I like them still but honestly i wish they went back to their Curse days or if thats to much atleast go back to Death-Grip On Yesterday days i loved that album i thought it was perfect cause it had a sort of even distribution of screaming and vocals. But thats just me. Who else agrees with me?" I certainly don't dude. However, it doesn't mean that I know what in the hell I'm talking about. There's a fairly good chance that I haven't known these guys as long as you have, not to mention many other posters on this 'forum'. I'll tell you this much though; I've been aware of these guys for the last year or more, and after this last album, I certainly don't hold it against them. Older fans such as youself have the right to expect something different than what L.S.P.A. contains, yet you should still - and just may - learn to appreciate in time. Don't worry dude, you won't have the fans of mainstream "bullshit" infiltrating your boards anytime soon. And if you do, they'll have more in common with you than you care to recognize.....trust me. |

| Atreyu – Lead Sails (And a Paper Anchor) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| .....and if musical accomplishment is all about Myspace, PLEASE put a mother-fucking bullet in my head right now. And when you're done, return the favor to yourself. Give me a break. "Check out their Myspace" HAS to be an automatic argument-killer. | |
| Atreyu – Lead Sails (And a Paper Anchor) Lyrics | 18 years ago |

mellymonster, You're right. I was being an asshole, and I apologize. I came across these guys fairly recently, therefore I don't possess much of the passion, and in my opinion, overly zealous nature that many of the older "fans" do. However, due to my late arrival as an Atreyu fan, I can at least honestly claim to like their music for what it is. Due to this, I don't hold newer stuff against older stuff, or vice-versa. It's not about "trying" to get onto MTV, or please a record label. I don't hear a newer song of theirs and think "WTF? This is sellout bullshit". For better or worse, I CAN'T think that, because I don't have any "hardcore" roots to base my judgments on. I beg one question though. How in the fuck is it fair to hold a band's prior catalog against them, when all they're trying to do is write music, play music, and do what they want to do? Bash me if you want, and I don't blame you. Just realize that people saying that this song sucks, or that this album sucks, are only saying it based on a narrow-minded opinion that what isn't in their own best musical interest is fucking bullshit too. That's fucked up, wouldn't you say? Regardless, I'll say sorry once again for the "rampage". I won't, however, get on a band's ass for wanting to be successful. That's just my opinion though, and you know what they say about opinions..... |

Here 2 Hear: Very well put. I don't know if I completely agree on the "war" theme,(the song comes off as being more organic than that to me) but I definitely like your attitude and ability to communicate. Good on 'ya. |

Welcome to the show you narrow-minded, self-appointing assholes. I'm Captain Hyphen, and I say that you fucking nay-saying idiots know nothing more than what you've taken out of your textbooks and have converted into real-life. There! I've done it again! Another hyphen. This band is well ahead of it's fans, and it becomes common-knowledge when they record a song such as "Lead Sails", and you whiney bitches gather in arms about how it should be "an epic ending", or that it's expected to be lacking in "screaming". Oh yeah. And for the D.O.U.C.H.E. that compares this song to K.T. Tungstall...... .....FUCK YOU. I'm not too good to tell you where you belong. This song, however, IS too good to have to suffer the consequence of your dip-shit opinion. Way to be "fans". And since many of you try so hard, while you're at it, write the rest of us a song, and post it on here for us to critique. Sufinati0n; I'm waiting on you. By the way, that's clever how you use a '0' as an 'o'. P.S. Listen to some Country Music, then go fuck yourself. |

| John Mayer – Waiting on the World to Change Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| lukertown22.... You, my friend, are a remarkable mind. Not only do you come off not quite sounding like you know what you're talking about, you possess grammatical and spelling skills that could only be rivaled by the finest illiterate mutes our world has to offer. Not to be outdone by your own brilliant self, you manage to back that solid point of your's up with possibly the most profound and original thought this site has ever received. Yep. It's just a ripoff of Curtis Mayfield. You'd be believable if several before you hadn't said the same thing. By the way. You're STILL wrong. Do us (if not me) a favor. Read a couple of fucking books before you attempt a post in which you try to come off as being a person of any status that may have something of any substance to say. Dick-lick. | |

Commie Bastard: Way to go dude. Thank goodness we FINALLY have a representative from the SPEED WORLD go finally enlighten us all on what this song means!!! You're probably early 20's-oh wait- late 'teens, and you practically brag about being a junky!!! Congrats' douche! Pat yourself on the back for the accomplishment, just don't bring The Offspring into your fucked-up world. You have NO idea what California was like back then, so beat it dick-lick!!!! Maybe it's about being baked, maybe it's about knowing all-too-well what fucks most people in this world are. Who wouldn't be afraid of most of them??? These guys obviously lived it, as some of you still are. Keep it alive!!! Fuck the speed junkies!!!! |

To Ilayaraaja1986: Drink habitually legally, then belch out your opinion. Until then, watch your fucking mouth!!! S.A. Marinez circa 1995 my ass!!! And while you're at it, try a 15+ year career in music, then again, watch your fucking mouth - before you pipe your stupid ass up again!!! Bitch!!! |

| Autopilot Off – Raise Your Rifles Lyrics | 20 years ago |

LMAO!!!! LMAO!!!! LMAO!!!! LMAO!!!! LMAO!!!! LMAO!!!! Try dispensing something verbal instead of dispelling pure emotion/nonsense. I agree with you Chelsea, it's a KICK ASS song, but fukkin' A, what do the LYRICS mean to you?? To me, this is the definitive Autopilot Off song. Not givin' a flying fuck, and belting it out from the top, which is where these sons of bitches belong!!!! At one point, they knew they had it. I believe they still do.....too bad I'm not in the band. Moral of the story: Don't let external bullshit penetrate your situation; otherwise, life's gonna suck and kick ass bands will break up!!! ;) Seriously though, these guys kick ass!!! Let's all hope they get back together sooner rather than later. Peace. |

| NOFX – Linoleum Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Too bad no one has commented recently......'cause the idea that homeless people spend significant time on linoleum is atrocious!! Punk poser spankers come in here with attempts at being profound. Nice try, but sidewalks aren't covered in 'linoleum'. Oh yeah!! I know!! Homeless people are going out and spending what little they have on metal detectors too!!! Again, nice try. Some of you get it. Some of you try to hard. Peace. | |

| Toto – Africa Lyrics | 20 years ago |

By the way Musy, Africa is not a country. It's actually a collection of countries known as a 'continent'. Or, rather, a major land mass. I do, however, appreciate your interpretation of this song. Very well put. I think of romance, whereas you see it in a different way, which could just as likely be the true point of the song. Thank God for music!! Interpretation is the backbone of being a fan of music. |

| The Offspring – Pay The Man Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Fucking Noodles, Dexter H. and Greg K. kick more ass than you pussy-ass poseurs could ever write up about in your junior-year essays!!!! Unless you love and respect The Offspring, get the fuck off of this thread!!! For all of you that appreciate this song and 'Americana', keep on kicking ass bitches!!!! I'm with 'ya all the way!!!! | |
| Def Leppard – Waterloo Sunset Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I've said it before, and I'll say it once again. The Kinks were great, but my God, Def Leppard covered this song in such a way that only they can do!!! Long live the greatest 'BAND' in music history!!!!! Way to go boys!!!! 30 years + and still rollin' strong!! Peace out!!!! | |
| Great White – Rock Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Sorry ladies/dudes. This band was NEVER glam. They kicked plenty of ass though..... | |
| The Kinks – Waterloo Sunset Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song is pure greatness!!! I have the greatest band in The World Def Leppard to thank for introducing me to this dandy. I knew The Kinks, but I didn't know this song. Def Leppard does it great justice, like they've been doing for music for almost 30 years now!!!!! | |
