Hard-Fi – middle eastern holiday Lyrics 20 years ago
I agree with you cityrockers. It's definitely about the war on Iraq, which hard-fi undoubtedly disagree with. They're having a pop at the government for joining it as well.
A great use of irony that somewhat resembles Joe Strummer's and Paul Weller's witty styles.

Arctic Monkeys – Fake Tales of San Francisco Lyrics 20 years ago
Jones your argument is flawed you assume that just because the music originated in the States, that it bears any resemblance to it. Does a human resemble an amoeba?Ok in this case there is a resemblance, but not a very strong one, same instrument, same chords. Do the Arctic Monkeys sound like Bill Haley to you? Because they don't to me!

I'd like you to elaborate on why 'bird' is derrogatory, because I feel it no longer is. The meaning has derived to the point where it no longer refers to a girl as inferior, it simply means 'girl.' I'm likely to get stick for this but honestly are we called childist for calling a child a kid, erm, no!

This comment is simply untrue: 'So the Arctic Monkeys' song ironically undermines its own existence.' As the Arctic Monkeys are criticising the Ramones are they? They criticise others who have taken Rock and Roll and put an alternative (crappy) spin upon it.

Final Point, would you make the same criticisms of The Jam and The Clash?, because it is more an imitation of their music than it is anything else.
