I liked the beginning of the song because most people are hypocrites when they give advice and just because they don't take it themselves doesn't mean its not valid but what took me out of it was the "If you were 28 again" line... like 22 year old Kellie Picklers giving someone in their 30s a fucking pep talk or something?
I can totally see it too, with the exact words in the song, I can also see that person giving her the same WTF look I had when I heard that line. I mean, maybe its good advice but its from a young (possibly dumb) Kellie Pickler. This is why reality TV stars can't be real actors, you know too much about them to believe anything they're doing in their role. |

Its about how Kurt accidentally dropped a matchbook on to an ant hill, creating a bridge like structure over the ant hill, squatted down to get it, lost the cherry off his cigarette, it landed on the matches and set the ant hill ablaze, the matchbook was also the tarp and whether your roof is leaking or your ceiling is on fire, eithers a horrible thing to happen, so he tried to throw some grass on it to put it out but that just made the fire bigger and he felt like a serial killer and serial killers like to kill their pets, so he crumbled into a heap of depression next to the big burnt spot and figured what the hell, they're dead already and popped the dead burnt to a crisp ants into his mouth as a snack because dead burnt to a crisp ants really don't have feelings... just like fish.
And this just made him feel more guilty for not only killing the ants but also eating them that he got all angsty that he was in the way of their actually fulfilling some sort of ant destiny. The original name for the song was going to be Alice's Ant Hill Massacre but everyone told him that it sounded stupid to use ant hill in the name of a song about eating fish. |
