I sensed the infidelity part earlier, but now i just think that the "I could never do the same" is how she wouldn't be a big enough person to wave at someone she'd 'lost' this man to. |

talking about ghosts.. I think it's clear that the person he's refering to isn't alive |

I also agree/hope it's reffering to Elliott smith, the line
"because i know you did the same thing for as long as you could bear"
perhaps referring to Elliott's suicide? If this is related to suicide then it would rule out jeff mangum |

Here is how I view it. First it’s someone describing how she’s feeling. Then it’s her father talking to her, and then it goes back to the person who’s describing her feeling. Then it’s the kids at school questioning her, and telling her how to be better, not understating that there’s something wrong. Then finally it’s the person from school who realizes something’s wrong, and tries to help but can’t.
This song is definaly chilling, the first time i understood it, i cryed. |
