why would angels deserve to die? anyway imo this song is about someone's sorrow and how someone might feel when the only person who they trust has turned against them. jesus is a good example of that. also i think that serj is blaming god for putting us on earth to suffer. i think he blames angels cuz they have it so good up there, they dont know what sorrow means. |

I think this is about peer pressure for drugs. like two parts of someone's brain fughting wheather to do what their friends do (fade) or not (abide). So one part is abiding and saying not to join inm the other wants to fade along with the two skies (the brain of the person using the drugs). k wtf? This song is pure shit musicwise. meaningwise, I dunno seems deep. i do think it's about drugs but the "dont eat the fish" and the stepson thing is quite confusing. not the fish part but the STEPSON part. but to tell you the truth the most the MOST confusing part of this song for me is the TITLE. what the hell does the fucking title mean. "THIS cocaine makes me feel like i'm ON this song." fucking hard to interpret! any thoughts? |

ONELIVEWIRE-"I've heard a bit of Russian rock, having taught in a Russian University for over 7 years, and I've never head something of this sort. But hey, that's just my experience." Nonono man i wasn't talking about russian rock. i was talking about Russian, Ukranian, Belarussian, Armenian traditional music, not metal. Im just sayin that the tempo and the overall guitar sound is very similar. The end of the song is not European sounding at all, but the chorus sounds very like European traditional music. Oh and the part about the soldiers not going to heaven. I mean that the line "young men standing on the top of their own graves. wondering..." i think means that the souls go nowhere after they die cuz they're sinners (they may have not killed anyone, but religious people rarely go to war, so i suspect they're sinners) |

k man wtf, all you ppl are posting the same shit with the same oppinions. First of all this song is not musically brilliant. It sound Russian. REALLY RUSSIAN. in fact some songs that i heard sound very simillar. of course ive never heard Armenian songs so it might also sound very Armanian. One thing is for sure, the reason you never heard simillar shit in America was cuz no one ever used guitars as the three string (holy fuck i forgot what their called) gutar like thingy's use to represent various cultures throughout Europe. System just mixed all this crap together and it worked. K as for the song meaning: -there is a question of afterlife and SOAD is saying that people who die in the war DO NOT GO TO HEAVEN -some of them deserve to die cuz they're assholes, some of them don't -god is wearing black cuz yeah the funeral thing -even god cant save humanity from humanity -SOAD is not only saying war is pointless and sinful, they're also saying we're fucked cuz people rarely follow faith nowadays -"he never comming home" THAT's NOT TALKING ABOUT THE SOLDIERS MAN! it's about god jeez... god is never comming back to heaven cuz he's fed up and there's barely anyone to take with him (cuz we're all sinners) -"people all grow up to die" they're also saying that children never wanna kill anyone, but once they grow up, conflict and crime and murder and war and sin and drugs and shit! I think this song is about mob mentality. People join rallys just to "belong" and be a part of something. Not all people of course, but many. Not just protests or anything like that but societal pressure to conform in general. The song is meant to make people realise that they have their own mind and dont have to conform to their group of friends, class, co-workers, protestors, etc. Basically: STOP AND THINK WHAT YPU ARE CONFORMING TO! |
