Does anyone agree with me that this song is just begging for a Dance beat to be put behind it. I am a huge fan of the Kings of.. I think if the right producer took it and funked it up a little, it wouldn't be long before the mindless masses in dance clubs up and down the country would be shaking thier asses to it!!!!! A great tune from a great band!!!! |

I am shocked and appalled that no-one has commented on this song. For me it's one of Springsteens best. I think it is plainly obvious that this song is about old friends. I hold this song very personally. I have a very strong group of friends who I grew up with, we went through puberty together discovered beer and women together, good times/bad times and great times. In recent years we have drifted apart somewhat "we got our own roads to ride, and chances we gotta take". Every so often I call up one of these guys and we talk about old times, and I wonder if we will have the same relationship as we used to or if we will be strangers, I think this is reflected in the lyric "I don't even know whay, I don't know why I made this call, or if any of this matters any more after all". I know that I am the person I am because of the freinds I had when I was younger and ..."I'll keep moving through the dark, with you in my heart, my blood brother" A fantastic poem to old freinds. |
