I haven't logged onto Songmeanings for a long time now, and was tempted to after reading all the comments about "weed." People who smoke weed tend to think EVERY SINGLE SONG they listen to is about smoking weed, only because they twist the words and meanings to relate to smoking weed. I'm sorry to say, but I know the band had absolutely zero intention of making this song be related to weed, at all. Now, you could say that the song REMINDS you of weed or when you hear it, it makes you think of smoking, but don't say and try to tell people it is about weed, because its not... And more along the real meaning, yes it can be about friendship but I see it being a little more romantic when he says "Just close your eyes and I'll take you there" I can't see him singing that to or about 'just a friend' |

| I got these lyrics from another site, but switched around a few words that I thought were wrong to what I thought was right. The "Devil in a Midnight Mass" lyrics are wrong on this site. Those were the Demo lyrics, they have an album version out now. The new lyrics are a bit different, and are sung different also. It's way too late for me to even try to tell you what I think this song means though, maybe tomorrow. By the way this song is most likely another demo, meaning that the lyrics might change June 27th when their album comes out. Download the song anyways, it's hard to find but worth it if you're a fan. | |

I definitly think that "jackmcleod" knew exactly what the band was singing about. Very good job and thank god you knew how well to make the explanation understandable, lol. Although...your explanation (jackmcleod's) on the lines: Light a Fire There'll be Water ...Could have been much better explained and probably had a lot more meaning to it than "Fires will be extinguished.", lol. My first guess was that it meant that if you try to do something, you'll just end up getting shut out by the majority, and since it could be saying for "you" to light a fire, you'd be the one starting it, also saying you'd be the minority. But after I've read some of your (jackmcleod's [this whole damn post is pretty much directed towards him]) explanations, I'm not quite too sure mine is right. lol. Anywho, does anyone know when Billy Talent's new album will be coming out (more specific than 2006, lol)?? |
