Kala way - I think that the "you" added in there is just how the person has translated it, because the latin is always written "qui tollis peccata mundi" - so no change there.
Anybody think it sounds almost middle eastern near the beginning?
Fuck it's beautiful though, I love it when it just explodes with the orchestra. His voice is so amazing and I cannot wait to see him -- Sydney in January! |

I heard Josh Pyke giving an interview on Triple j ages ago and he said that it was autobiographical. He also thought that the song wouldn't be a hit because it doesn't have a chorus. Obviously he was wrong because it got number 19 in the last Triple J hottest 100 :) |

Saw the hoods live last month at UNSW and they were incredible! Really great on stage, very funny and really awesome. We were waiting until about 11pm for them to get on, but it was well worth it. This is my fave song by them and they saved it for the last one of the night, just past midnight. It was FANTASTIC - they started it off a capella and built it up faster and faster - it was just explosive. It reminds me of Hotel California in a way.. |

This song is incredible because there's something about it that when I hear it makes me stop and think, life isn't so complicated. We get so caught up in everything but it's not so bad and there's always a way forward. It's just a gorgeous and very relaxing song. |

So mellow man. You just sit on the bed and drift off. Very good song to listen to when you're trying to go to sleep, and uber relaxing! High Fidelity was an awesome movie which is where i heard these guys too. Round the Bend is also great. I love this guys voice! |

A beautiful song. I think it's about a girl and a guy who were friends, and she used to watch him go off and waste his life with all these different girls. Then the line "he can't see where his friends stop and his, his lovers begin". The repetition of his sounds like a slight hesitation to say it kind of thing, and it's like then they get together. But she seems a bit reluctant and I don't think it's the perfect relationship "reels me in and he reels me out again", it's a bit of a yoyo relationship or complicated etc. Very true to its name - it is "things between people".
I LOVE the lines:
"He says I cannot be around you because God knows it hurts/
But I cannot be without you because it's much much worse"
The way she sings it is just beautiful. Rock on Aussie music! |

I know I just sound like everybody else, but I can still remember the first time I heard this song, sitting in my brothers bedroom and he's all like "you HAVE to hear this song". It's been my fave every since. Ben is a fantastic lyricist. TPS are one of my favourite bands of all time! |

Can't believe nobody's commented on these! Although they're not that well known...anyway. I think this one is about a relationship thats kind of not what it used to be and they've both drifted apart a bit. He maybe slept around: "so lie down, sleep around" and maybe neglected her a bit "like you used to do" but she is much the same in return. "investing everything in her and not expecting a return", and she is "a life sentance in your [his] arms". So what he did is probably a result of her treatment, or vice versa. It's quite melancholy, great tune and voice. Awesome song! |
