| I think its about a Southern farm girl whos religious but can't understand why she should have to deal with an alcoholic and possibly abusive husband, and is (in the immortal words of Woody Allen) terminally infested with children. When she can no longer take the fact that Jesus will not save her, or at least not in the manner she is expecting, the weight of the world overcomes her faith and she ends up hanging herself. Grusome for such a sunny sounding song. Kinda reminds me of Beulah. | |

I think this song is kinda poking fun at "emo" musicians, or really people who capitolize off of their "pain". It kinda reminds me of Art Is Hard (?) off of Cursive's Ugly Organ CD, when Tim says You Fall In Love To Fail To Boost Your CD sales. Anyone else get that vibe? Its a bada$$ song regardless. |
