M.I.A.'s husband is Benjamin Brewer, the heir to the Seagrams fortune. Seagrams bought the liquor brand Chivas 60 years ago. Hence:
"When I met Seagram he sent Chivas down my spine"
So the song's mostly an ode to her husband. It's an extended metaphor casting different types of alcohol as men. This is easily M.I.A.'s most clever rap to date.
Musically, this song's so next-level. Kinda reminds me of Black Dice. |

I don't know the history of this song, but it seems like it may be a parody or "joke" song mocking the randomness and flighty lyrics of Bob Dylan. I mean, "And roverman's refrain of the sacrilege recluse?" Pluh-ease. |

I got this song from my uncle's computer who lives in Socal. I guess this girl is pretty local. Either way, this song is great. I believe that this girl is getting married to Jason Mraz pretty soon. |

I am so excited! This is the first time I've been the first commenter for a song on this site. This is my favorite song of the "Clarence Greenwood Recordings." This song appears to be about a man in a bad portion in a relationship, but he's promising her that he's going to stay with her and it will bet better. |

| The Shins – When I Goose-Step Lyrics

This song appears to be about a father trying to calm down his infant daugheter by telling her about life.
This explains, "Why we blind-footed toddlers ever started out."
He's telling his daughter don't get irritated (or cry) while he is creeping across the floor ("goose-stepping"). This makes sese because babies cry easily when they hear noises. He also mentions his adoration of the baby's mother's old-fashioned ways.
