I love this song. Not so much for the lyrics, but for that cool heavy grunge sound. I like the name, too, you just wouldnt really except a heavy song with Little Acorns as its title. |

I like Megs voice too. Its soft, smooth, and a bit bluesy, in my opinion. I think she could do better, but shes got potential, and thats what matters. A bit of voice training is all she needs, you know, to make it a bit more powerful. I cant wait to hear new Meg tracks ;) |

This song is about being hurt by somebody you love. Whether this person is hurting you on purpose or not is really up to your own interpretation of the song.
In my opinion this song is about finding out that someone you like loves somebody else. About having your heart completely shattered and suffering everyday. You are reminded of them every second everyday and everynight and it feels like pure torture, "the one of love is striking me down on my knees, the one I love is drowning me in my dreams" The one you love is killing you without he/she knowing.

I agree with Katzkittens. This song is obviously about a nuclear bomb and mass genocide. Notice "a raging wave of light vaporized all this life" and "dust replaced their souls"(people are litararily turned into dust in a nuclear bombing) Though it may not necesarily be talking about the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings, but rather of a worst case scenario about a nuclear bomb in the future. And it would be quite possible for someone to run into the fields while a nuclear bomb is going off, it depends on how far away you are. You could see a huge wave of light and a mushroom smoke thing in the distance (several kilometers away) and be so scared you could run...duh.
And that thing about a petrified family pointing their hands is something more figurative than literal. That could indicate that the singer/writer of the song feels terrible grief at the deaths of so many innocent people. What better image than a dead family pointing their hands at you? It is a tragic and striking image. |

I beg to differ, virtualfactor. This has to be one of the best songs in the Dark Light album. The Nightside of Eden is dark, melodic and heavy (atleast compared to the rest of the songs in the album) and the keyboard effects are a big plus. Im a big HIM fan and Im sure I have never heard a song as unique as this one (well, it is similar to Vampire Heart in some parts, but its still good and different) |
