| The White Stripes – Forever For Her (Is Over For Me) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This song is about committment, like artslut said. The man in a relationship is afraid of committing, because when you are married 'to death do we part'. He realises that forever is a long time, and that he will never be able to honestly be with another woman again. He stuffed up at a crucial part, like (I can't believe I'm about to compare a work of art to a crappy TV show, but here goes) on the OC, when Marissa says 'I love you' to Ryan, and Ryan can't say it back, and instead says 'Umm...thankyou?' He blew it. Big time. |

| The White Stripes – Fell In Love With A Girl Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song sounds like it's about a girl who can't choose a single man. She keeps on skipping from one to the next without forming any attachment. | |

Wow the guitar and drums in this song ripped my brain out of my head, threw it on the ground and stomped on it until it turned to mush. IT WAS AMAZING. The first time i heard this, I stood up and danced around my room. The lyrics sound like someone trying to tell a girl that she is really immature ('How old are you now anyway?') and changes things to suit her ('you took a white orchid and turned it blue') and needs to grow up. Like a father scolding a daughter who has disobeyed him. |

I think this song is about a man, in a relationship with a woman, who has left him many times before for another man, but then she keeps coming back because it doesn't work out. OR A man dating a woman, who keeps on leaving him for someTHING else (eg. career, travel, friends etc.) |

| The White Stripes – Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I have 3 different theories. 1. That it is written to a girl with a hearing disability. 'If you can hear a piano fall you can hear me coming down the hall'. 'Any man with a microphone can tell you what he loves the most.' 2. A parent who's child was born with a hearing disability, but I think the love described in this song may be of a different kind to family love. But it shows just how I would talk to my daughter, 'Every breath that is in your lungs is a tiny little gift to me'. 'If I could just hear your pretty voice I don't think I'd need to see at all' 3. A man who has been away for a long time is finally coming home, and being away from his partner has made the world seem dark 'Dead leaves and the dirty ground when I know you're not around' And when he comes home to see her, she has left. 'Then I come home, no one to wrap my arms around.' |

| The White Stripes – I Can Learn Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This song is awesome, in how it breaks all the rules of music. Like verse-chorus-verse-chorus-different verse-chorus to fade. I think this song is about a man who isn't sure how to approach a relationship with a woman. Then when they become a pair, we are all made to realise that relationships suck. |
