Bob Dylan – It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) Lyrics 19 years ago
Its almost not fair how one man can easily write masterful work like he did... 'In No Direction Home' he writes two songs on the toilet in one go, and both were better pieces than I could hope to write in weeks... not fair!! =P

Beck – Where It's At Lyrics 19 years ago
My favourite song.
Definitely an inuendo.. "Two turntables and a microphone."

My favourite performance of this song is Beck w/ The Flaming Lips at Austin City Limits... sooo awesome.

Beck – Nicotine & Gravy Lyrics 19 years ago
Yea an amazing song really.
And Beck hits some sweet notes on this album... "I don't wanna die tonight"... I'm pretty sure thats him singing that line... maybe with a female vocalist. Either way he does hit those notes... seen him cover Creep?? hahah

Beck – The Golden Age Lyrics 19 years ago
I think its kinda funny ESPN used this song when the Boston Red Sox won the world series in '94. Seems like they took the title into consideration but none of the lyrics... lol.

Needless to say I was happy someone at least recognized how great this album is and the leadoff track is absolutely amazing.

Mew – Special Lyrics 20 years ago
I can't beleive this band isn't more popular than they are. From my understanding they are big in Scandinavia, but they are hardly a blip on the radar in North America, kinda too bad. But there is something satisfying knowing and appreciating a band that you and a few select others know.

Dntel – (This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan Lyrics 20 years ago
This song is pretty special to me for a good reason.

I've been with this girl for like 2 months now. I met her in class one day when she was playing the postal service on her computer. I asked if she was a fan and she said yea. We kinda started talking about music... and became friends quick (music is always a great ice breaker). We talked a couple days later on the phone and had a real long talk about life and things of that sort. We started talking about music again and somehow Death Cab for Cutie came up (shes a real fan of Gibbard) she mentioned how nice it would be to just lie down with someone you really care about and let the mellow DCFC tunes kinda set the mood.

A month or so later after a few dates I remembered our first real talk and made a mix CD. We went down to her basement and watched a film, then I popped the mix into the stereo. I kicked it off with Dream of Evan and Chan.. I didn't have to say anything. Needless to say she really liked this gesture. The night continued and we had alot of fun ;]..

The song just reminds me of that night now.
