this song is about regret period... Rascal Flatts wanted their fans to relalte to their songs so they left it open for you to put your own situation in... the video is just one situation that this song could inturpret... the video is one of my favorite videos right now, by the way and the actress in it is very good at acting sad and crying and i think that's what makes the video so sad because it looks so real anyways awesome song... and to tell you the truth i've never really listend to rascal flatts before this song.... i love when he sings "was being so close" at the end when like all the music stops.. very good part |

the part where it says... "Mayday, mayday Requesting permission to land I cannot control the plane We are in danger of crashing" the first time i found out that it said that i was like woahh those are some powerful lyrics but anyways i think this song is about suicide... the lead singer (i forget his name.. sorry) has a friend that is basiclly having trouble with life and is starting to have second thoughts on even living anymore and i think that the lead singer is also having these thoughts too but idk... "I cannot control the plane We are in danger of crashing" i think that's a metaphor (sp?) and it means that his friend or him or both cannot control their anger/sadness and are "in danger of crashing" meaning they are about to break and basiclly give up on life and commit suicide "I am losing you again" self explanatory "Let me out and let me in" meaning that if his friend just let's him then he can help "Cause you're not alone here, not at all" meaning he is going through the same thing or at least something like it "Let me belong here, break my fall.." maybe meaning that he doesnt fit in and break my fall is maybe about how he needs help in return "Shelter me from this again" meaning that he doesnt want to go through thinking about suicide again "Dedicated to the end" meaning that he is planning on getting through this with his friend and that's basiclly what i think and i personally think it's pretty reasonable.... great song though |

the meaning of this song is pretty obvious.. however it all depends on how you inturpret (sp?) it.... meanings: the obvious one... one of his really close friends (or perhaps his girlfriend) died... police are saying it was suicide however buddy "knows" it was murder or if you really think about it.. it could mean that his girlfriend/ really close friend really did comit suicide but buddy doesnt want to think that and he wants to try to "prove" that it was a murder even though he knows that deep down inside it was really suicide i dont know it's probably the first one but the second one seems like a more powerful meaning |

the last person who did these lyrics got them totally wrong... the more recent lyrics (the one above) are more accurate.. however i'm still kind of iffy about some parts of the song... where is says "and i try, i try" it kind of sounds like "and i'm sure i'm tired" where is says "Until we break for (falling down)" i think it is "And I pray for..." but i dont know that's just what i think... |

in the booklet of their CD, The Silence In Black And White, it says (said by the lead singer, J.T. Woodruff) "First of all, 'Cut my wrists and black my eyes,' is a figure of speech. Hawthorne Heights is strongly against suicide in any form. During the recording sessions, I remember everyone arguing with their girlfriends. This rarely happens. It must have been a full moon or something, but seriously each one of our girlfriends were mad at the same thing. We weren't in Ohio (and we weren't going to be for a long time). We were working 15 hours a day on our album and we all just wanted to sleep. I wrote the lyrics to this song solely in tribute to our girlfriends. it's "there's POWER in the powder desolving in your guts" and when you think about it, it makes more sense that way... great song by the way... it's defanitly about one of Ryan's friend's getting involved with drugs and now questioning their friendship in the first place.. and not knowing his friend anymore |
