'This sun hasn't set' This to me is a metaphor - the sun hasnt set meaning, our relationship isn't over yet, we can get past this it isn't quite over.. So it seems to me that it is about a dying relationship, but the girl is half in denial about it, but beginning to relaize but not wanting to so almost begging for her lover back. |

yeeh its with my bb gun i will kill birds.. because on this programme I watched about Nirvana it says how when Nirvana recorded this (they all switched around Kurt vocals+drums, Krist geetar and Dave bass) Kurt forgot the words and so said that and on the video its funny because the look that Krist and Dave give eachother when Kurt forgets the words.. teehee makes me giggle. ah I heart Nirvana so much. Which.. is why I have to point out its really bugging me how everyone says "kurts version" its NIRVANAS version.. Kurt wasnt the only one in the group..much as I adore Kurt I think he would be pissed off everyone seems to forget Krist and Dave... they were as much part of it as Kurt was. This song reminds me of Sid and Nancy. I mean one theory was that there was a suicide pact but Sid didnt go through with it. Also that it wasnt Sid but their drug dealer and both thoses stories are implicated in this song. well to me anyways. And you lied to the angels Said I stabbed you to death ^^^ that bit it just seems to relate to the story about everyone thinking Sid killed Nancy but really he didnt.. I dont know. When this song was on the finale of last season The O.C i cried. It just fitted so well. It is such an amazing an emotional song. I havent heard anything else by her. Whats her other stuff like? any good? this song is beautiful. makes me cry everytime. I dont know the actual meaning but to me its as if shes has an incredible relationship with someone maybe a boyfriend and for whatever reaosn ahsnt spoken to him in a long time and revisists their old haunts and everything like the good times come back to her. especially when it says "oily marks appear on walls..." its as though shes staring at the wall or place she has a fond memory and almost gets a sort of flash back. to me it seems as though she thought she was in a deep relationship with this guy but it turns out he was a jerk hence the you dont care abit lines. It just reminds me of my bf I just broke up with. Similar story really. I keep going back to the places we once had such good time in and realize they mean nothing. Nothing at all. |

I bet Kurt would find this amusing. Us trying to decifer what his words mean when really he probably doesn't know. I think he probabaly would have hated it too seeing as he hated fame and being trying to tear apart what he said,trying to over-analyse everything he said and wrote. Yet I suppose me saying this would piss him off aswell. Thinking I know him and all. Well sometimes I just feel like saying tough shit to him you know. The posters on my wall staring intently at me. It's like Kurt whether you like it or not I LOVE YOU and you are a freaking musical genius. He is God. I do believe. Everytime I hear anything about him that is slightly incorrect to my knowledge I feel this urge to defend him or correct the person speaking. Silly really. I know. I often feel bad if I have Guns n Roses playing because I know he hated Axl. I apologise to Kurt. I think he accepts. I just wish Courtney was the one dead not Kurt. But maybe he's happier now. My instant reaction on hearing this song was to assume it was about Kurt. But being a keen Nirvana and Kurt fan I am likely to link it with Kurt. Having said that I only did link it because of the lines in the song seemed to fit in with Kurt/Nirvana days. Like the "swinging from the chandielers" line. However after thinking about it I did wonder, if the song is about Kurt, why would the othe band members want to produce and release a song about him? Kurt was and still is important to Dave but Kurt is irrelevant to the rest of the group and shouldn't have any bearing on the songs. But who knows. Maybe Dave himself doesn't even know. That's the beauty of songs and lyrics you can make them what you want. Not all songs have a specific meaning. Like poems, they have a different meaning to all who read them no right or wrong answer. However I would like to point out something (I apologize for the side-tracking. I recognise this is off topic of the meaning of this song but I would just like to point it out) regaurding what another memeber posted way back in June or July time I think about "Dave doesnt sit around moping about Kurt wondering how he died" or something to that effect. In the special edition of Q magazine on the history of grunge there was an interview or an extract from an interview with Dave where it said and I quote "I have dreams about Kurt all the time. He shows up and I'm like: Holy shit! You're not dead, and it's like it was some big joke. Then you wake up." Which to me says it all. Peace out -x- |
