This is a great awakining song for us. But we hear things like this a lot, but never does it impact us for more than 5 minutes after hearing it. I agree with MusenMolly when i quote "why the eff didn't she release this song!?" Alanis is my fuckin hero...her quality of writing is stimulating and blissful. I can not help but close my eyes when listening, and even if i dont know all of the the words, i still sing. Alanis is a fuckin goddess. |

i think i agree with neocowboy. I think this song is awesome. it fits the story well. Green Day is Genius. If this song werent on the album...we would miss a great deal of the American Idiot Story because Boulevard of Broken Dreams explains how alone one can be to where he is at the point where he has to check his vital signs to make sure he isnt dead. |

The Character in this song who refers to himself as Jesus of Suburbia. he is a son and he hates his mom and his life. He just wants to make everything better even though his own life sucks (thats why he refers to himself as Jesusof suburbia..to make things better because Jesus supposedly did that). since he has such a f***ed up life, he doesnt think that there is a God. He is a peaceful person who happens to be filled with violent rage. So when he leaves his home, he finds out how fucked up the world is, he turns out to be all alone in the world, he calls himself Saint Jimmy, he meets a girl, loses a girl and his fucked up life just gets worse. but i guess he thinks he's a jesus because he probably commits mental suicide and comes back as Jesus of Suburbia...so maybe the story never really stops...meaning that our world will always be fucked. |
