| Leonard Cohen – Chelsea Hotel #2 Lyrics

I don't think its about Janis. Apparently he had a love affair with Janis and Nico from the Velvet Underground, and in a poem from the book of longing titled "Something from the early seventies," Cohen says "the Black Photograph has ever meant a fig to me, except of course, for Nico. She could read them. She knew what I was doing. She knew what I was. And I long for her still [...] My work among other things is a monument to Nico's eyes. That there was such a pair in my own time, and that I met them, forehead to forehead; that the Black Photograph sang to other irises, and yes, corneas, retinas and optic nerves, all the way down the foul leather bag to Nico's restless hear, another human heart; that this actually happened constitutes the sole assault on my loneliness that the eternal has ever made, and it was her.
Therefor I was in New York at a curtain time, in a certain place; actually it was The Chelsea Hotel." |

Using drugs might take you somewhere in a day that might take you ten years of deep meditation those that dont use drugs that get far usually dedicate years and years of there lifes. Like monks and what not. Drugs are bad, but using certain drugs properlly can show you things you could never understand without, also a good book zig zag zen by alex grey, talks about being tradtional or using drugs to get to an ecstatic state. |

Im suprised no one has mentions this but has anyone read the yaqui way by carlos castaneda. This song makes a hell of a lot more sense. When i was first told that the song was written on a book it wasnt beliviable till i read the book. Carlos trains with a shaman don jaun, who uses peyote as a teacher. (A peyote button would be what they eat) Don jaun also turns into a holy crow and teaches carlos how to as well. He meats mescalito who teaches him a song(just because thats what outherworld peyote entities do) The middle line sounds like carlos when he searches in the desert don jaun watches him, the blue sun is the other world he enter her searches and finds mescalito which in the song it describes as peyote buttons that teach him a song. Carlos runs away because of fear at the end of the book, he couldnt handle what he wsa brought in to. Carlos ran because of fear and he needed time to put reason to all this insanity that he had entered. |

A lot of other bands on this site people are clueless about the meanings but you guys have it in the bag. The song seems to be that when maynards in his darkest moment proubably drugs of some sort(considering all the alex grey art, alex grey wrote a book called zig zag zen, its about using hallucanagenecs to reach no levels or doing things tradtional with discipline, basiaclly should one take the escalater or the stares)
Anyways assuming drugs proubably mescaline or ayahuasca(Oral Dmt mixed with MAos do dreamy to be lsd) the drugs brought him to his dark moment then he became connected with the univers and all the information contained in the energy reflected off of him and with out his ego the light touched him filling him with infanint information. He realized that we are all one mind and he fades away into the energy. Triad, just weird sounds. I took some acid one time and listened to all of aenima ended up trapped in a fetal possesion went through lateralus tell reflection came on dont only remember the begging of the song. All i remember is blackness with colours and the triad sounds. Now i get honoroll marks in school have excellent determination and i can use other peoples minds to think. This isnt a sight to write about my trips so no more on that im just saying it does have its drug influences. |

Trent seems to be more of a crystal meth user then a herion user. His music has a nice metallic edge to it rather then a dreamy painless herion sound. Kurt Kobain had a much more herion sounding band. It does sound like hes killing it all away with drugs but he can still rember everything no matter how much he uses. He offers everything he has even though its crap, but you can take him or leave him because all your getting is dirt. The feeling of her changes, he forgets evetually, but hes still the same person.
He just keeps hurting her. So in the end the world will try to change him but he will always stay the same person.(This shit person he describes himself as in the song)
My first time hearing this song was after I did a bunch of lsd against my girlfriends back well she was pregnant never the less. Told her the next day. She couldnt decide if she was going to dump me or not so i wrote down the lyrics to this song with a bunch of trippy pictures. She took me back and i havent done drugs since, so i guess i changed, but i didnt because the real me was the one not doing drugs. Anyways my opinions crap but its my two cents worth. |

Have any of you actually seen a shade of mushroom blue? Because of the groggy trippyness of mushrooms, except he falls down the whole and sinks deeper. Sinking on mushroom takes you to a place where the only thing that exists is whats in that brain of yours. I pretty sure the sucide isnt an actual death. More an illusion in his head where after it happens he droans out. Hurt's could be the aftermath of it all and looking back and he now feels sorry for all those that he hurt. Including himself(mentally)
Thats my two sense and ive done alot of the dirty things trent has done to. |

This song is a change into something else, but it sounds like a change gone wrong. It's defintally got the lsd metallic edge to it. When someone reaches a point of new concousness they are born again, in his case rebuilt. Hes not rebuilt as a pure being though, he becomes this robot who can't feel. |
