yeah they sound so much more mature in this song compared to their other earlier songs. Sounds like they had really grown up and reflected on everything they had done |

i know this is not the meaning of the song, but the feeling i get from it is one of looking back on past times gone by and remembering them. Then looking forward to the future with a sense of hope and wonder but not necessarily knowing what is ahead. Also perhaps an acceptance of things gone by particularly really special times. Its like just fading away into the sunset with a sense of mystery and that certain times and memories will always be there. So beautiful, just magic. |

it is a comforting song but these days i look at as a bit of a give up. ten years ago this song used to blow my mind. everything about it is so brilliant. i think the velvelt underground were so talented particularly at keeping a vibe up. like a certain feel throughout a song they seem to do that in a lot of their songs. i've never taken heroin but i can appreciated that lou reed has captured the feeling of what it is like, just fuck everything and collapse into his drugged state and forget the world. |

i think revisited summed this song up pretty well. Such a trippy song and soo qsychedelic. Makes you want to get up and groove. it has so much soul to it. paints a good scene of the sixties and sex and drugs and just great times. |

i think job's message seems pretty correct. I didnt realize that is centres just on nick mason. I think this song is incredibly deep. There is almost a hidden message underneath the lyrics. It is such a trippy song. I've been listening to it for nearly ten years and still it makes me wonder, really powerful song. IT may be different to everybody but for it just makes you want to step back and just think and wonder. A dam intense song |

what a beautifully written song!! It is so touching!! I think for everybody it has a slightly different meaning but similar in ways. Steve Nicks version is by far the best. The covers of them dont come close. The whole feel of the song is just so sad really makes you want to cry. I think she is asking herself a question in the first stanza about whether she can handle the changing seasons of her life. She also experiences the general ongoing reflection of her life. She is afraid to change and live her own life as she has based her life on someone special( father, lover, friend) The landslide is the ongoing turmoil of existence and her asking the question of can she handle living? Its quite hard to put the meaning of this song into words. I think everybody would get something a little different out of this and something really special. |
