Well put together song, absolutely love it i agree with what Karawesome said: "having a sub par, or abusive father messes you up to the extreme, especially in your relations to the opposite sex." i completely relate having a "father" who doesn't know how to be a parent to you messes up ur relationships for both boys and girls, more so for girls. You're all right, and i LOVE LUPE FIASCO, he makes me proud to be muslim and black. InshaAllah he never goes mainstream. even though i think he's leaning towards it. kick push was soooo mainstream, but kick push 2 had more meaning, i hope hes just trying to trick ppl into buying his album by releasing the mainstream stuff and then when they get it hitting them with the real hip hop. the person being talked about in the song is addicted to something(under a spell), and watever hes addicted to is personified as a woman, and 'shes' in his future(crystal ball), the person needs 'her' (call her name) 'she' has alot of ppl addicted to her(youre not the only one....), and 'she' is breaking the person down somehow (be a man, dont let her do that to u), 'she' obviously bad (shes on the darkside), i dont want to say its about drugs , it can be a number of things, lets just say 'she' is sin in general. its just what i think -CryssssSTAL |

this song is a map of how i feel, i love to express myself throug song, so i wrote this to my buddy of 5yrs online: i didnt expect to fall in love w/ u when i met u online, i've slowly been trying to be yours, b/c i dont want to scare you off, i feel like i'm on a wild goose chase lol ( i'm usually a optimistic person, sometimes unrealistic thats why up until now i've been trying to tell myself its not gonna happen, its kinda like saving myself the pain when it doesnt happen it being u and me) sometimes i feel like i shouldnt love you, b/c ur so far away and unattainable, it breaks my heart b/c i dont want to love u but i cant help it, your the only boy i would "take a shot on" your the only boy i'd really want to be w/, even when i was with my ex. i thought about u, and i was still talking to u online, i've been talking to you online for years now, longer than anyone else(other than lillian of course) on my messenger list. u've kept me intrested for years. i'll understand if u dont take this seriously(the song and all, its just how i express myself) , ok i lied, i would be crushed if u didnt understand, i'm not asking u to love me, that would be asking too much, we cant control wat we feel, just the actions we put behind our feelings. i dont usually use the word "love" ATT ALL, so dont take this lightly. | I love this song, I never thought it possible but the band reminds me of bob marley, to me the song means: someone is coming from working, not a office, but maybe in a field, and their walking home down the mountain slope and when ur going down a slope u go faster and faster and ur foot hits the ground harder harder as u progress. its late evening, the person thinks its been a beautiful day seeing as how they've been outside all day. the chorus to me means when the night (that the person is walking in) feels their song,(that they're singing as they walk), he'll be home by then, and they'll feel good about the days work. and i'm guessing its a long walk since the person reaches home when its dark and he started walking when it the sun was just goin down.the song reminds me of someone who's coming from working in the fields in some kind of remote area in jamaica up in the mountains, where the roads are twisty and rocky. excuse me if i pointed out the obvious, once again this is what the song means to ME. i'd love to hear another persons take on it :) | |
